Happy Wednesday!
We might be small, but we are mighty!
Through the generosity of our school and parish family and friends, as well as our local community, we have successfully done the following this school year:
- Raised $800 to assist Saint John Vianney Catholic School in St. Petersburg, Florida after the devastation of two hurricanes through our special Twinkle Tuesday Dress Down Day.
- Raised $315 for the IHM Retirement Fund through our regular Friday Dress Down Days.
- Donated almost 200 boxes of cereal to the local Food Bank.
- Raised $8,970 for our Angel Fund at our Oktoberfest.
- Raised $38,255 to date for our general fund through our Race for Education.
Small, mighty, and mightily blessed!
Sincerely in Christ,
Mrs. Tice

Empowering God’s Children
We will be presenting a safe environment lesson entitled Empowering God’s Children to our Kindergarten through 5th grade students. This program is provided to us by the diocese and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from abuse. This is the same program, which contains age-appropriate lessons depending on the grade, that was presented to your children the last several years.
If you are interested in reviewing the program overview or specific lesson plans, please visit www.saintjohnsch.net and click on the backpack section of our website. These lessons are also a great resource to you as parents to empower your children to protect themselves, fortify their boundaries, and reiterate these safety messages at home.
If you determine that you DO NOT want your child to participate, please print and complete the attached opt-out form, and return it to your child's teacher no later than Monday, November 4, 2024. Teachers could be providing this lesson to their classrooms as early as next Tuesday.

Community Service Opportunity
As we prepare for our upcoming Field of Flags Veterans Day celebration, we would like to invite students, parents, and community members to help us beautify our school courtyard.
On Sunday November 10th @ 1:00 pm, we will be gathering to rake leaves and place flags in the courtyard in preparation for this meaningful event. Your participation will not only help create a lovely space for our celebration but also honor the sacrifices of our veterans.
Date: Sunday, Nov 10, 2024
Time: 1:00 pm - ?
Location: School Courtyard
What to Bring: Rakes, gloves, and any other yard tools you can lend. If you have a leaf blower, that would be helpful too!
This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and show our support. Whether you can lend a hand for an hour or the entire time, your help will be greatly appreciated!
Cemetery Clean Up
All are welcome to meet at the church cemetery on Wednesday, November 19th at 9 a.m. to assist with Fall Clean Up. Please bring your own gloves and rake.
