Hamlin Happenings - Week 11

• Arrival at School: Students should not arrive at school before 7:45 a.m., as there is no supervision before that time. Additionally, please encourage your child to dress for the weather, as we will only come inside during extreme weather
• Athletic Events: Students are welcomed and encouraged to attend after-school athletic events. Please remember that students must be picked up after the game at 6:00 p.m. They should not loiter around the building, as no supervision is provided, and their safety is our number one priority.

• Sunday, November 3rd: FALL BACK

• Tuesday, November 5th: No School - Election Day

• Friday, November 8th: Imagination Theater

• Friday, November 15th: End of 1st Trimester

Dia De Los Muertos is a two-day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create ofrendas to honor their departed family members who have passed. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead.

We ask students and staff members to bring photos of their loved ones who have passed to place on our school's ofrenda. Please ensure your student's name is on the back of the picture.

Our Hamlin Sewing Club has been busy making table runners for Dia de los Muertos and Halloween. Special shout out to Mrs. Martinek for teaching our students such an important life skill!

As part of our new breakfast and lunch program, we are seeking feedback from parents/guardians and students about the menu offerings. Attached are two PDFs explaining the FD Meal Planner app provided by our food service company, Whitsons. We would love for you and your student to provide feedback on the different menu options.

To provide Feedback:

1. Visit FD Meal Planner
2. Type in your student’s school
3. Choose either the breakfast or lunch menu
4. Click View Menu
5. Select the menu option you wish to review
6. At the bottom, Rate (1 - 5 Stars) and leave a comment if you wish (You do not need to leave your personal information if you do not want to.)
7. Click Send Feedback

By providing feedback on the breakfast and lunch options, we can better tailor the menu to our students' tastes and preferences.
