Principal's Message

Dear Eccles Families and Caregivers,

Thank you all for your flexibility and support for our Jog-a-thon! The weather was dry and our spirits were up! It was so great to see our students running hard and their peers cheering them on. We have a wonderful community!

This Wednesday, the CARE Committee came to Eccles to recognize Ms. Kathy Rykken, our health assistant. Ms. Kathy is so deserving of the CARE Award. She provides excellence in care for our students, staff and families. Not only does she provide responsive support for students who aren’t feeling well or who get injured at recess; she also administers medications, organizes for field trips, partners with families, and attends to other health needs. She does all this and more with a warmth for students and the highest level of professionalism. We are so fortunate to have Ms. Kathy on our staff, serving our students and our community.

Congratulations Ms. Kathy! We are such a stronger community because you are part of it.

**Please remember we have Early Release every Wednesday at 1:30 pm. If you need to arrange for alternate pick-up for your child, please call the office by 1:00 pm.

We are excited to partner with our Eccles PTA and celebrate all of our wonderful staff this week! While we still can’t quite afford to send our staff on vacation, we have decided to once again transport them to some exciting places. From the bustling streets of NYC to the sandy beaches of Cancun, our staff will be treated to delicious foods and first-class amenities. Join us for a week of exploration, relaxation, and gratitude as we celebrate our amazing staff!

To make this week a success we need your help! We're looking for volunteers to bring in food and other items to make this week extra special. Every contribution helps us create a memorable and enjoyable experience for our staff.

Library Update with Mrs. Adams

It's May, so there's just one month left to check out library books from school. Books will stop coming home after May 31st, and all library books need to be returned by June 7th!

Any books more than 30 days overdue and any books not returned by June 7th will be marked lost and a replacement fee will be charged to your child's account. Overdue and Lost Books weekly reminder emails will resume on the morning of May 6th. Daily reminder emails will begin June 3rd and continue to the last day of school.

Please help your child keep track of their library books! Book replacement fees stay on your child's account through high school! We don't want to charge you money, we want the books back in the library. Thanks for your support!
