Here are some after hours non-urgent hotlines for questions you or your family members or friends may have. If you have concerns that include exposure at school or positive cased in the home, please contact your child's school. Our school admin team and nurse will be ready to help. If you have questions regarding community exposures, please use the information below.

Parents,

Just a reminder that your child's safety is of concern to us. We still have students crossing Black Cat before and after school. There is not a cross walk in this area, it has increased in use, and the speed is 45 mph, making this an unsafe crossing. Please utilize the bus that is provided for our families living on the west side of Black Cat.

We are noting an increase in the number of headaches here at PVE. We are asking parents to please pack water bottles daily and have asked staff to make sure students have times to get drinks throughout the day. Our goal is to help students hydrated and eliminate extra office visit for the nurse that result in students being sent home for 10 days due to having one of the symptoms of COVID. We appreciate your help with this issue and supporting students remaining in school.

Our mask supply at PVE has been well utilized. Please help remind your child to bring a mask to school daily. They are expected to have masks on once they step onto campus, so please help make sure they don't leave home without one.

Speaking of Masks... On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, the West Ada School Board of Trustees approved updated information about masks. Please read the information below, as we will be working with families and students to make sure they are in compliance and understanding of the new requirements.

If your child has been wearing a shield, these are no longer permissible unless there is a medical reason and you have met with the principal and nurse to approve the use.

Should you have questions, I am happy to help. We appreciate how flexible and understanding our families have been as we continue to pivot this year.

The change addressed the use of face shields and mask breaks:

Throughout the duration of the current pandemic, students will be required to wear a cloth face covering (mask) that fully covers the nose and mouth and fits snug against the sides of the face. Students will be allowed mask breaks when determined necessary by the teacher and appropriate social distancing can be maintained. Mask breaks will not happen in the classroom. Face shields are not permitted for use as a matter of preference and will only be used to accommodate medical and/or communication conditions. Face shields should never become an absolute substitution for cloth face coverings. Medical accommodations will be made for students with proper documentation from a medical provider. The documentation will be routed to the school nurse who will then document the accommodation in PowerSchool. Prior arrangements, based on a team decision, for students enrolled in special populations will be honored. The decision by the building administrator(s) about an acceptable mask is final. Violations of these requirements will lead to disciplinary action.

Once again we all asking for any help we can get. This school is in desperate need of Noon Duties. If you can help consistently anywhere from one day a week to the entire week, please let us know.
