May 16th, 2025
From the Desk of Mr. Lyons
With all the focus on Seniors wrapping up their high school journey, its important to remember that all other students still have time left in the quarter. Many classes have large end of the year projects due so managing your time is more important than ever. Keep checking your progress and make sure your are communicating with your teachers. We will still have Office Hours next week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday if you need support.

PARENTS BE ADVISED
A dangerous TikTok trend called the “Chromebook Challenge” is circulating among students — and it’s something every parent should know about.
This challenge encourages kids to take apart or intentionally damage their school-issued Chromebooks, sometimes by trying to short-circuit internal parts. What may seem like a “fun experiment” online can quickly turn into something much more serious:
⚠️ Risk of electrical shock or fire
💻 Permanent damage to expensive school equipment
🚫 Disciplinary actions at school — and even legal consequences
Let’s keep our kids safe, informed, and on the right path.

SCHOOL POLICY REMINDERS
TARDIES
Students who are not in class once the bell rings are considered tardy. Students must get a tardy pass from one of the kiosks. Students who are more than 20 minutes late to class are marked absent.
CELL PHONES:
Cell phones are to be away during class time, unless the teacher allows for educational purposes. Headphones, airpods or other listening devices are also to be away. Teachers will have a variety of storage techniques to ensure students are not distracted by their device during learning. Parents can assist us with this by reinforcing the need to be fully engaged in learning during the school day.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
To ensure student safety we are asking all students to enter and exit through the gates next to the gym once the school day has begun. Students who are being picked up for an appointment will be released through those gates and not out the front entrance. Parents may enter the school through the front and pick students up from the office.
