Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

Please start thinking about some of the cards, treats, and gifts you might like to recognize your teachers and favorite staff members with. If you are available to help during the Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, please contact virginiamines12@gmail.com.
Festival of the Arts
Thank you to all the scholars, teachers, families, and volunteers that came out to make our annual Festival of the Arts such a success. It was great to see our scholars making crafts representing Korea, Mexico, Japan, Armenia, India, and many more. They also got to discover many unique places we can find art such as math, music, technology, and even exercise.
Please be sure to check out this photo album and upload your own pictures!
Thank You to our Community Supporters!
A big Thank You also to all of the local businesses and community partners that came out to help make the Festival of the Arts so much fun for our scholars. Click on any of the images below for more info and to support those businesses that support us.
Be sure to check out these opportunities from the Rockin' Awesome Improv show to keep the laughs coming. Stop by the main office to pick up free tickets.

Get Your Yearbook Order In
Thanks to all of the parents that have been helping keep our morning dropoff line running smoothly.
Please volunteer for just a few minutes in the morning to help get our scholars out of their cars and into campus safely and efficiently. It helps calm traffic and keeps everyone safer. You do not need to be an approved volunteer to help with this. It will only take an extra 15-20 minutes each morning and will make a big difference.
Please signup here if you are able to make a weekly commitment.
And please be sure to slow down in the mornings and keep your little ones buckled up until they are ready to get out!! Please try to arrive a few minutes early so every scholar is in line for class before the bell rings.
LAST CHANCE - Complete the School Experience Survey Today!
Dear Balboa Families,
The School Experience Survey window is now open for parents/guardians. This survey provides important feedback to both the district and the school to help ensure academic rigor and safety for all students. The survey should only take a few minutes, so please complete it today.
Balboa Magnet strives for 100% participation, so we kindly ask for your help in reaching that goal. At the end of the survey, please print out the completion certificate with your child’s name so your scholar can receive an incentive.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
Best,
Ms. Chun
The mornings have been perfect for our scholars to get out, demonstrate sportsmanship, and have some fun during Psychomotor.
We need approved volunteers to help supervise out on the yard. The signup sheet is up to date with all dates the rest of the school year. Please click here to signup.
Yearbook Committee
It takes a great deal of effort to put together our yearbook. Please help by joining the yearbook committee and distribute the work amongst a group of dedicated and creative volunteers. Click here to read the different opportunities and signup.
On Campus Volunteer
Our teachers can always use a little help in the classroom. Register to be an on-campus volunteer to help out during the school day. There are plenty of ways to help out. To learn more and to apply, please visit the LAUSD Volunteer Portal. You need to re-apply for each school year.
