Principal's Message
Greetings Washington Families,
Welcome back to another edition of The Washington Weekly! This week is all about celebrating our incredible staff during Staff Appreciation Week. We are grateful for the dedication, hard work, and passion that our teachers, instructional assistants, and support staff bring to our school every single day. Let's take this opportunity to show them just how much they mean to us!
In addition to our staff appreciation celebrations, be sure to read the newsletter for information about some exciting upcoming events. We've got details about the upcoming book fair, where you can discover new reads and support our school library. Plus, mark your calendars for our Spring Fling event, a fun-filled celebration that you won't want to miss!
We also want to hear from you! Please take a moment to complete our WCPSS Survey and our elective program survey to provide feedback. Your input helps us ensure that we're providing the best possible learning experiences for our students!
Thank you for being part of our wonderful school community. Let's make this week a great week at 1000 Fayetteville Street and a week to remember as we celebrate and appreciate our amazing staff!
Magically,
Catie Burnette
Principal

School Information 🏫
ATTENTION: New & Returning Band and Orchestra Students
Also, please note the following:
1. Returning students will be pre-registered for continuing band/orchestra based on this form for the 24-25 school year.
2. For current 2nd grade students (3rd graders for 24-25 school year) you will be pre registered for beginning/band orchestra for the 24-25 school year.
3. It is the expectation of the program that if you are able to rent an instrument that you do so; however, we do have a limited number of instruments that can be borrowed from the school. Instruments do not need to be rented at this time. Instruments will be assigned for beginning band/orchestra during the first quarter.
4. Band and Orchestra are year long electives. It is the expectation that students are making a commitment for the year. Individual cases will be addressed as necessary after a discussion with the teacher and/or administration.
