Parent/Teacher conferences are this week! It's a great time to connect with your child's teacher. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week are all 1:30 days. Friday is a no school for students day.

We have TONS of jackets and hoodies. It's chilly in the morning and warms up pretty quickly. Please have your student check the lost and found for any missing items.

Questions to Get a Feel for Your Child's Progress

For Lower Grades (TK-3)

1. Is my child performing on grade level in math and language arts?

2. Are there behaviors you see at school (both good and bad) that you think I might not be seeing at home?

3. What subject area is emerging as my child's strongest this year? What subject area still needs more progress

4. How does the school handle standardized testing and prep for those tests?

For Upper Grade (4th & 5th)

5. I know grades don't tell the whole story. Is my student giving his or her best effort

6. What are some essential skills for college that you see are still a "growth area" for my student

7. How can I encourage age-appropriate accountability at home to support what you are doing in class

8. What are you observing in regards to my child's organization skills? How can I encourage them to be more organized without doing it for them?

October 4th Hispanic Heritage Festival 2:00 pm-3:00 pm (students and level 2 volunteers only)

October 18th Color Run TK& K 1:15-1:45 1st-5th2:00 pm-3:00 pm (students and level 2 volunteers only)

October 25th Fall Festival Truck or Treat 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm Students and their younger siblings are welcome with their adults. Please donate a bag of candy to be handed out at the end of the night.

When dropping off your child's lunch please be sure their name is on the lunch. It isn't easy to keep track of all the lunches and whose goes where. The basket outside will be collected at 11:15 each day.

We need more PTA members! We've all enjoyed the events this year. In order for these events to keep happening we need new and more PTA members. Worried about your language skills? Not a problem, we will work that out. Our students tend to play together during the meetings, so feel free to bring them along. You can email corvalliselementarypta@gmail.com for more information.

All of our classrooms need donations of tissues, cleaning wipes, paper towels, and bandaids.

Every school day is a day of learning for our students. It's important that students are in class on time and ready to learn. Our students line up at 8:33 and are in classrooms at 8:35.

Students entering the building from 8:35-8:45 will be greeted by our staff and given a tardy slip to take to class. After 8:45 students will report to the office to obtain a tardy slip.

If your child will not attend school on a particular day you may email cor.att@slzusd.org or call 510-317-4999. Please leave a voice mail. Our office checks it several times a day.

Many of our students suffer anxiety. As a parent, I know how helpless we can feel when our children are suffering. Here is an article that talks about some things parents can do at home. Please reach out to your child's teacher to discuss your concerns. We want to help you and your child work through the anxiety and enjoy school.
