A Note From Mrs. Bowden....
Welcome back!
It was a great week getting back to learning for students and staff! As the holiday season is upon us, December brings a sense of warmth, joy, and community to our school. It is a time to celebrate the hard work of the first half of the school year, the growth we've seen in our students, and the special traditions that make our Lions' community so unique.
This month, we will focus on fostering kindness, gratitude, and connection---values that carry us through this season and beyond. Whether it is through holiday events, acts of service, or classroom activities, December is a wonderful time to reflect on the importance of supporting one another.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making our school a P.L.A.C.E. where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Wishing you and your family a happy and peaceful holiday season!
It is a GREAT day to be a lion!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bowden

Dress Code
This year has proven to be more difficult with Dress Code. I ask that you partner with us in ensuring that your student arrives daily in the appropriate Dress to comply with the standards of Leadership Prep. There are consequences with not being in Dress Code. Students are afforded the opportunity to change into clothes from the nurse and to call home. If they choose to not wear the clothes from the nurse until a change of clothes arrive, they will be waiting in the ISS room. Below are the most common that the staff and Administrators are finding. The Dress Code and Examples are found on page 21 of the Parent Student Handbook located on the main page of the LPS website.
Students who do not follow the school’s guidelines for personal attire and appearance may be subject to discipline under the Student Code of Conduct. Additionally, a parent will be contacted to bring an acceptable change of clothing to school, and the student may be assigned to in-school suspension for the remainder of the day until a change of clothes is brought to the school.
At the Secondary Campus, student ID’s must be worn and visible at all times. Students who lose ID cards may replace the card upon request for a $5 fee.
Girls may also wear khaki or navy skirts/skorts, and girls in K-4 may wear khaki or navy jumpers as well. The length must be no shorter than four inches above the kneel, and solid navy modesty shorts are to be worn underneath skirts/skorts/jumpers at all times. * it is not fingertip length as most believe. Please check before your student arrives at school.
- No yoga, cargo, joggers, or athletic-type pants are allowed.
- Shirts must be tucked in all day.
- No flip-flops, sandals, slippers, clogs, crocs, wheelies, light up shoes, platform shoes, wedges, or boots of any kind are allowed. UGG's are boots and are not allowed, including the UGG booties.
Please help by checking your student's uniform daily.
Thank you!

Lunch Help
Hello Parents,
We are in desperate need for volunteers to help serve lunch at both our elementary and secondary campuses on Mondays and Thursdays. If you’re available to assist on either or both days, your support would be greatly appreciated!
As an added bonus, volunteering gives you a chance to see your kids during the school day. Whether you can help regularly or just occasionally, any time you can offer is valuable.
If you're interested, please email me at jdugas1@lpsfrisco.com with your preferred campus and availability.
Thank you for your help in making our lunch service a success!
Best regards,
Jennifer Dugas

University of Texas at Austin - Top 5% Auto Admission Class of '26
LPS Juniors and Families -
As you may know, students who graduate in the top 10% of their class could qualify for automatic admission to many public universities in Texas through the Top 10% Rule. Senate Bill 175, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, allows The University of Texas at Austin to limit automatic admission to 75 percent of the university’s enrollment capacity designated for first-time resident undergraduate students.
The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible summer/fall 2026 and spring 2027 freshman applicants who rank within the top 5% of their high school graduating classes. A letter from University President Jay C. Hartzell is attached to this correspondence.
Please let me know what questions you may have!
