In Social Studies, third grade learned about three important symbols in America. Here's what they had to share...
One of the symbols is the Liberty Bell. It symbolizes liberty for our country. Liberty is freedom.
Another symbol is the flag. The flag symbolizes the original 13 colonies and the 50 stars stand for the 50 states.
We also learned about the Statue of Liberty. It is on Liberty Island between New York and New Jersey. It also symbolizes freedom.
We created something to represent a symbol of us. Each of us made a flag. All the flags have different symbols that stand for things that tell about us.

Our next round of conferences will take place on Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14. Once again, families will use Skyward to schedule a Parent-Teacher Conference. The Conference Scheduler will open in Skyward on Tuesday, February 18 at 8:00 AM. This will allow you flexibility to select a time. The Parent-Teacher Conference provides a time to meet with the teacher and learn more about your child's progress, academically, socially, and emotionally. We know that success for your child is family and school working together!
Hayshire Read-A-Thon
Mark your calendar! Thursday, February 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM is our next Hayshire Family Night. Bring your books and a blanket to cuddle up and read with your family. There will be special guest readers. PTO will provide hot chocolate and treats! Don't forget to wear your pajamas!
The Central York Education Association’s Battle of the Buildings returns! Teacher teams from each of our buildings will battle it out with juniors and seniors through a variety of crazy events and games to raise funds for scholarships for students pursuing careers in education. These teams will battle it out on Friday, March 21, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 PM. The event begins at 7 PM. Come and cheer on your teachers! To purchase tickets online, click on the button below!
