School Funding
Did you know...
- Texas ranks 42nd in funding per student, spending about $4,000 less per student than the national average!
- The average school district in Texas receives about $10,000 in funding per student. However, CISD only receives about $8,700 per student, which ranks last in the entire state!
- In general, districts in Texas have not received an increase in per student funding since 2019, even though inflation has increased approximately 19% over that time.
CISD Budget Reduction Advisory Committee (BRAC)
The mission of the BRAC is to provide the Carroll Independent School District Administration and Board of Trustees with actionable financial strategies designed to ensure long-term District solvency. The committee's efforts will support the District’s mission to deliver an exceptional education despite facing evolving financial challenges. Visit our BRAC web page to learn more about this district committee and submit your feedback online.

Please take a few minutes to watch this video on public school finance in Texas.
Automated Emails Regarding Attendance Absences
Tuesday October 1st the district will begin sending parents automated emails regarding attendance absences.
Parents will begin receiving these daily emails when a student is absent from school. This is done as a courtesy for parents to be aware of student attendance coding that is occurring in Skyward. It is also done for safety purposes.
Snacks Donations Needed
We frequently have students who are unable to bring snacks from home, so we maintain an extra supply in the office. If you’d like to donate snacks, please sign up using the link below. Kindly ensure that all items are peanut- and tree nut-free. Popular options include Goldfish, Cheez-Its, and pretzels!
Thank you for your support!

CISD News and Updates
Ways to Stay Connected
Make sure to sign up for the Dragon eBlast, a district communication with all of the latest news, updates and announcements! Also follow the district social media accounts to see all the latest happenings within Carroll ISD:
Welcome to Carroll ISD and Club Charlie!
Club Charlie is how the Carroll Education Foundation (CEF) welcomes our newest Dragons to the CISD family! Charlie is CISD’s Dragon mascot; named after legendary Dragon football coach Charlie Stalcup.
First Things First:
We are so excited to welcome you to Dragon Nation! Proudly Place this Club Charlie sign in your yard this school year to let everyone know that you have a new Dragon in the CISD family!
Club Charlie Contest:
Every October, CEF holds a Club Charlie fundraising contest for kindergarteners on each elementary school campus. The campus with the highest percentage of participation will gain control of the Club Charlie Trophy and win a special party with Charlie the Dragon to celebrate their victory!
This year, there is also a special drawing for a one-of-a-kind experience to be Santa’s Helper for your kindergartner and family at Southlake’s Home for the Holidays. To be entered to win, simply donate $365 ($1-A-Day) to become a friend of CEF.
What to do Next:
To donate for your kindergartener, simply follow the QR code at the bottom of the page. Make sure to select your campus and check that you have a kindergartner student so it will count towards the contest. If you have already donated to CEF this school year, your gift will be included for the contest!
Who is CEF:
CEF believes that a great education begins and ends with great teachers. Funding teachers is the most tangible way we as a community can support not only our amazing teachers but all Dragon students as well.
Your tax-deductible gift to CEF goes to directly fund teachers in 3 ways:
End-of-Year Appreciation Gift: A financial gift given to EVERY classroom teacher at the end of the school year. In our first year using this model, 2024 teachers received $1,200! This financial gift is not in lieu of raises or support from the district, but an additional way we as the community can support our teachers.
Teachers of the Year: Each campus Teacher of the Year receives a $1,000 cash award plus the two district-wide teachers of the year receive a $5,000 cash award.
Teacher Scholarships: Scholarships for Teachers and Paraprofessionals who are going back to school to further their education at an accredited university.
