GT Testing
The referral window for students to be considered for gifted services is September 3-13. This is the only open window for referrals for current Magnolia ISD students in grades 1-12. Students are eligible for assessment once every year. If parents and/or teachers would like to refer their child/student for testing, an online form will need to be completed. Access the link below:

Referrals completed before September 3rd will NOT be honored.
Lunch Guests
Important Reminders
- Students may not bring a friend(s) to the guest table
Due to privacy rights, no video or photography is permitted in the cafeteria
5 minutes before the end of lunch, "Focus & Finish" will be announced. At this time all students return to the homeroom table & guests exit the cafeteria.
Lunch guests are not permitted to walk students to class after lunch
Lunchtimes are as follows:
10:40-11:10 - Kindergarten
11:15-11:45 - 1st grade
11:50-12:20 - PreK & 2nd grade
12:25-12:55 - 3rd grade
1:00-1:30 - 4th grade
Vision & Hearing Screening
We will begin the State-Mandated Hearing and Vision screenings for Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, and Third Grade students next week. The screening process takes a few weeks to complete, and you will be notified if your student does not pass. Please be mindful that these are only screenings. If you and/or your child's teacher are noticing signs of a vision or hearing problem then please follow up with your child's physician.

Student ID Number
Please help your student learn/memorize their 6-digit student ID number. This is used when buying breakfast and lunch. Knowing their number and being able to type it in will expedite cafeteria purchases for everyone.
Ally Moore, our cafeteria manager, shared that her child was able to memorize & key it in correctly after she set that number as their device passcode so it was used regularly. What a great idea!
Absence Notes
Parent notes following an absence must be received within 5 days of returning to school. Medical notes can be accepted at any time.

Mrs. Daniel would like to invite all 3rd and 4th graders to join our CHOIR this year. Please open the link for more information and to sign up for our choir.
STUDENT BIRTHDAYS

This is the only MISD option for birthday celebrations, snacks or cupcakes cannot be brought from home. Orders should be placed 2 weeks in advance.
IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION
- While on campus, electronics (cell phones, tablets, smart watches, etc.) must be turned off and placed in backpacks.
- Distracting items such as Pokémon cards, figurines, and toys in general should remain at home.
- Please be sure all personal belongings are labeled with your child's first and last name.
- Don't forget to remind your child to wear tennis shoes on PE days.

* School releases at 3:45 pm
* Transportation changes should be made with the front office by 3:00 pm. If your student needs to leave early please also notify the front office by 3:00.
