The Viking Spotlight is the part in my weekly newsletter used to highlight and celebrate our students and staff anytime we can! If you would like your child acknowledged for something they have accomplished, whether on campus or off-campus, please feel free to fill out this google form HERE. I look forward to celebrating our Vikings and all of the great things they are doing!

Whew! What a busy week it was last week, even though it was only 4 days! We had a great turnout for Viking Shadow Day, we recognized about 75 students at the Viking Recognition Awards, and then we ended the week cheering on our fellow Vikings in the 1K race! Congrats to our winners!! Pictures and names will be in the next newsletter!

It's hard to believe that it's already the last week before Thanksgiving break! 🤯 When we return from break, we only have 2 weeks of classes before Final Exams!! We are officially in the home stretch of the semester, Vikings! Remember, you must pass ALL of your classes, with a D- or higher, in order to be eligible to walk in the promotion ceremony in 8th grade. What steps are you taking to ensure you will be successful in your classes? Have you attended tutoring? Have you attended Saturday School? Time is running out to make any efforts to improve your grades, so start now and don't wait until the last minute! You got this, Vikings!!

Wishing all of our Viking families a wonderful and rejuvenating Thanksgiving Break! Whether you are traveling or staying close by, enjoy the time with your loved ones! We'll see you on December 2nd when we return! 💛

MVA ASB presents Frozen Formal!

Join us for our winter formal dance on Thursday, December 12th from 5-7pm. We will crown our Winter Royal Court, and we will have food and drinks for purchase, a photo booth, and more fun activities to be announced soon.

November 14-22: $2

December 2-12: $3

At the door: $5

For the first time, we are opening our dance up to guests who are in 7th and 8th grade. Guest tickets are $5. Guest permission slips are available at ASB Window 4. All guests must have signatures from the MVA student and parent/guardian, the guests parent/guardian, and the guest's school administrator. MVA students are responsible for the behavior of their guests. Please read the guest permission slips carefully!

Attention all creative Vikings!

You're invited to join MVA's brand-new Art Club! Whether you love to create or just want to try something new, Art Club is for everyone—from total beginners to creative pros.

Led by our very own Mrs. Dow, former art teacher at MVA, we’ll explore drawing, painting, sculpting, and printmaking in a fun, relaxed environment.

Join us on Fridays after school, from 1:15–4:00 PM. No pressure, no grades—just a chance to create, make friends, and have fun. Note: You will need to be registered in the VALOR afterschool program to participate. See Mr. Arista for more information.

Our first meeting is Friday, December 6th. Bring a friend or just your awesome self—we can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

All funds would go directly to supporting our MVA students in the form of spirit shirts, celebrations, recognition awards, school supplies, and more.
