Shackled by Candy J. Cooper
"Shackled" by Candy J. Cooper chronicles the "Kids for Cash" scandal in Pennsylvania where two corrupt judges, Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan, sentenced over 2,500 juveniles to a for-profit detention center while secretly accepting bribes, creating what would become known as "one of the largest and most serious violations of children's rights in the history of the American legal system." We have been working hard to make it easier to find books in the library! You can now easily see the order of books in a series for the print books in our collection. Each book in a series is stickered with the number where it belongs, and if an author has multiple series each series is color coded with a different color dot so you can tell them apart. We are also shelving series in their numerical order and not alphabetically by title. You can also see where is book belongs in a series in our Destiny Library Catalog. You can access the catalog from the "important links" in this newsletter below!
Looking for an easy way to see all the Gale databases we can access? There is an option on Library.fyi to see all of the Gale databases in one place. On Library.fyi, select the "Gale Databases" button under the top heading "All Gale Databases." All of the Gale databases have integration with Google Drive, NoodleTools, and Schoology.
