SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED
The School Board will need 3 new members for the 2025-26 school year. The school board is an advisory board that meets the 2nd Monday of every other month at the school. School board members commit to a 3 year term. If you would like to run for school board, send a short paragraph telling a little about yourself and why you would like to be on the board to schoolboard@stcindependence.org. Nominations/biographies will be taken until March 28. If you have any questions, please, reach out to one of the current board members or email schoolboard@stcindependence.org.
STEAM NEEDS
We need cereal boxes and paper towel tubes all year long for STEAM, but we really need them NOW if anyone has any. Please send them in with your student. Thanks in advance!
40 DAYS OF GIVING
We will be collecting items for 40 Days of Giving for Lent for St. Vincent de Paul. See flyer for items needed. Bins will be located in the school lobby.

RELATED ARTS IN REVIEW
ART CLASS
The Art Room has had hearts, hearts and more hearts throughout the month of February. We’ve had shaded and tinted painted hearts, hearts in the Mandarin style, the similar design of Kandinsky, Monet, and Alma Thomas, as well as 3D hearts. During March several classes are doing Dr. Seuss focused projects. The Lorax can be heard shouting, “I speak for the trees!,” as a parade of Seuss creatures march round the room. Be sure to ask your child about their work!
CAFETERIA
CAFETERIA HELP NEEDED!!!
We really need help in our cafeteria on a daily basis. Great way to earn Parent Partnership hours. Kitchen Help will assist the cafeteria with serving food. Cafe Monitor will assist students with opening items and cleaning tables.
You must be VIRTUS compliant. Parent hours need to be logged in to Sycamore for approval!

Tickets are on sale NOW!!! Print the ticket order form and send in cash or check made payable to St. Cecilia School. It's going to be a spectacular performance!
DRAMA PROGRAM ADS
We can use your help please, in placing ads in our program for Rappin Fairy Tales and Alice @ Wonderland. The students really enjoy seeing their name in an ad. The parents get one free ad, please submit your entry on the form below. Additional ads are $5.00 each.
We are also looking for sponsor ads. If you know someone who owns a business and would like to supply an ad please encourage them to do so. Sponsor ads are $25.00
DRAMA TIME
It seems like yesterday when we wrote and said our productions were 7 weeks away. It's crunch time! We have several immediate needs:
- Parent & Sponsor AD for the program. Simply email lkohl@stcindependence.org with AD on the subject line and submit your AD. These are really important to the students.
- Volunteer to drive. As of today we need 10 more drivers! The driver form is attached. You must be VIRTUS compliant.
- Volunteers to assist with stage clean up for 30 minutes after our March 22nd performance. You may send an email stating you will assist with this task.
- Purchase tickets! Get your family to join us. The students have worked so hard and the plays are fabulouis!
Support out very talented students and reward them with your presence at our performances.

STAGETTE
Our annual Stagette will take place on Saturday, March 15 at Receptions in Erlanger. If you still need a ticket, please email stagette@stcindependence.org and we will get back to you!

STAGETTE VOLUNTEERS
The PTO needs your help at our Annual Ladies Stagette. The event is from 6:30pm-midnight on Saturday, March 15. The PTO is hoping for 50 or more volunteers to make this night a success. You will need to arrive early, but most events will end prior to midnight. In the past, men have been the primary volunteers for this event, however, this year, ladies may also volunteer. Just remember those volunteering may not participate in any of the gaming/raffles. Please, click the link to fill out a form and you will be contacted with more details as the event gets closer. PTO MEETINGS
Our next PTO meeting will be Tuesday, March 25 at 6:30pm in the School Cafeteria. We will be discussing open PTO Board positions and will be taking names of those interested to attend a meeting to review board positions and duties for next year! MOTHER/SON BOWLING EVENT
Our Mother/Son Bowling Event will be held on Sunday, April 13 from 1-3 at the Florence Bowling Center. This is a special event for all boys and their moms/mother figures in St. Cecilia School and Parish in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. Please RSVP for the event using the link below by April 1. BOYS BASKETBALL
Congratulations to Coach Bornhorn and the 8th grade boys for their undefeated season and winning the Holy Cross league tournament. Great season fellas!
BASKETBALL UNIFORMS
Please be sure to return basketball uniforms as soon as possible. Write your child's name and grade on a piece of paper and place inside a bag with their uniform. Students can drop them off in the tote as they walk into school. Uniforms must be returned as they cost $85 to replace.
ANNUAL GOLF OUTING
The 5th Annual Golf Outing presented by the St. Cecilia Sports Committee is now open for registration! Held at Hickory Sticks Golf Club on Saturday June 7th. Our fish fry's will be on Friday's beginning on March 7th - Friday, April 11th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Undercroft. We need your help to make our fish fry successful! EXTERNAL EVENTS
K OF C FREE THROW CONTEST - RESCHEDULED
The Father McGivney Council #12502 will host the rescheduled Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest in the St. Cecilia Gym at 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. Doors open at 12:15 for registration and shoot around. The event is for 9–14 year old boys and girls. Age will be determined by your age on January 1, 2025. Certificates will be given to each participant, and plaques and medals will be awarded to the winners of the boys and girls in each age group. Winners will advance to the District and Regional Events on the same day. The event is free and will include a Hospitality Room with free pizza, chips, and soft drinks for participants.
HOLY CROSS LENTEN FISH FRY
Holy Cross High School Weekly Lenten Fish Fry from 5pm to 8pm in the cafeteria, 3617 Church Street, Covington, KY, on all Fridays during Lent except Good Friday (3/7; 3/14; 3/21; 3/28; 4/4; and 4/11).
