“The one who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God, is like the morning light when the sun rises on a cloudless morning, the glisten of rain on sprouting grass.”
David writes about what God revealed to him concerning leadership. If David ruled with justice and from a place of reverence (fear) before God then he would be beneficial to his people.
Everyone leads something or someone else. So, as a leader, you have many choices to make. One choice is how you will lead. What kind of foundation will you have? What kind of structure will you have?
Leading with justice means finding the right in whatever wrong there has been. To lead with justice means that I will seek the truth regardless of the sacrifice. I will protect the helpless and the victim. I will hold accountable those I can.
Not all leaders are given the authority the position deserves. However, lead and develop others in the way of justice. Why?
Because you will be like the morning light on a cloudless morning. Each day brings hope. Each day offers new opportunities to do right, make right, and help others. Weeping may last the night but joy comes in the morning because of a new day dawning.
You will be like the glistening of rain on new sprouts of grass. You will be refreshing to those around you who are trying to grow. Feed them. Let them feel the nourishing nature of your leadership from justice and fear of God.
Leading from justice is not common today. But we are called to be uncommon leaders as followers of Jesus.
How could you show uncommon leadership today?
We Need You

A man once planted two rose trees, one on either side of his house. The trees were equally strong and healthy, but after a time the one grew and prospered, the other withered and died. Then the man discovered that the living rose tree was on the sunny side of the house. Brethren, we must have the sunshine of faith and hope on our lives, or we cannot live. I have read of a little child who was often observed playing by itself, and laughing and singing with delight. They asked the child what it was playing with, and the little one answered, "I am playing with sunbeams." It would be better for some of us who are too apt to look on the dark side to imitate that happy child. If we allow ourselves to be always haunted by the shadow of fancied misfortune, we shall lose faith in prayer, since the black shadow will have eclipsed the face of God. (Wilmot Buxton.)
Please join us on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room to pray for Pastor Aaron and the church staff as well as pray for Bible study, the worship service, and the needs of the church.
Below are some items that can be used as your guideline for praying each day this week:
- Pray for Pastor Aaron as he prepares and delivers the message on Sunday, August 1st, 2022, from Matthew 7:1-6 that talks about “The Judgment Free Zone.”.
- Ask our Heavenly Father to help each of us to … seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and so that all these things shall be added to you.
- Praise God that the follow up team has diligently been delivering bags to the homes of the children who participated in VBS this year.
- Ask God to help each of us to not worry about anything, rather to pray about everything.
- Thank our Heavenly Father that He cares about all of His children.
- Praise God for His provision.
- Thank Him that He helps each of us to get through each day.
- Ask our Heavenly Father to guide Pastor Jaime Perez as he leads Iglesia Vida Nueva (Hispanic church).
- Pray for Dexter Laureano as he leads the Redeemer Community Church (Filipino congregation).
- Keith is on Sabbatical July 18- Aug 14
- Community Engagement Team: for more information please contact Tim Gould.
- The second budget reduction started July 1. In this, all staff and employees began a 5% reduction in pay.
- Children's Ministry begins Wednesday nights Aug 17. Back to School Event Aug 14!
About Us
1. We desire to see every person in Crowley and the near regions become disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. We are a Bible-believing church. Our command from God is to make disciples. However, that looks and feels different than it did when I was a kid! People are farther away from God than ever before. It takes more "touches" and deeper relationships before there can be spiritual conversations.
2. We will love people so they can move forward on life's journey. We have been saying this for a few months now, but want to keep saying it until we live it out everywhere we go! Because people are farther away from God than ever before we must choose to love them with patience, kindness, respect, and conversations - many conversations! We have to respect them as humans before we can discuss other matters. We must be patient with people as they work through the trauma that church and Christians have given over the years.
3. We have established a code of conduct for the FBC family:
- Accept — We provide a welcoming, non-judgmental and safe space where you can take steps of spiritual growth. We are a group open to new ideas and people. We would love to meet you.
- Recognition — We find the good in people and love to share it with others. We would love to get to know you.
- Inspire — We motivate to mobilize people to fulfill their God-given potential. Let us help you reach the heights for which you are designed.
- Serve — We engage our church and community by service projects, providing help when possible and sharing community resources.
- Evangelism — We want to build real, trusting, relationships in order to share the gospel of Jesus Christ that leads to life transformation.
