Congratulations to our Adams All-Stars who achieved perfect attendance this year! Your dedication to being present every day is truly commendable. Attendance is so important, and your commitment sets a fantastic example for all. Keep up the great work!

We are excited to celebrate the achievement of the following 5th graders who successfully met their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals! At our school, we strongly encourage every student to engage in independent reading by utilizing the AR system. This computer program is designed to assist educators in managing and monitoring children's independent reading practices.

Here's how it works: Each child selects a book at their own independent reading level and reads at their individual pace. Once they've completed the book, your child can take a short quiz on the computer to assess their understanding.

We believe that fostering a love for reading is essential for academic success, and the AR program is a valuable tool in helping students reach their reading goals. Congratulations to these dedicated 5th graders, and we encourage all students to continue exploring the world of books and testing through the AR system to achieve their personal reading milestones."

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTA Board members who have been so dedicated this year. Niki Mason, our Board President, Kelly Phibbs, our Board Treasurer, and Eva Stevenson, our Board Secretary, have gone above and beyond to support our school. From organizing the fun run and enhancing school safety to enriching our school culture, you have given our students and their families an amazing experience at Adams Elementary. Your hard work and commitment are truly appreciated by our entire community. Thank you for all that you do!

Great news! Last week, Ms. Muniz's class had the best attendance. A round of applause for their AMAZING work! Ms. Muniz's class achieved an outstanding 100% attendance, surpassing our school-wide goal of 94% attendance each day at Adams Elementary.

Maintaining high attendance is crucial for creating an environment conducive to learning. As a reminder, our school has set a goal of 94% attendance every day this year. It's heartening to see Ms. Muniz's class-leading by example.

We want to emphasize the importance of consistent attendance for all students. Absences exceeding 10% of the school year classify a student as chronically truant, and we are committed to supporting each student in reaching their full potential by ensuring regular attendance.

As a quick reminder, parents have three days to clear absences through the Adams Elementary Office. After three days, uncleared absences will become unexcused/truancies.

Congratulations again to Ms. Muniz's class, and let's continue working together to foster a culture of consistent attendance and a love for learning at Adams Elementary!

Students must be currently enrolled in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and have a student ID number to participate. All families must be registered.

Attendance is very important to a child’s success in school. Students are expected to be here each day on time and ready to learn. However, we understand that there are occasions where an absence may occur. Please be sure to contact the school and press 2 to leave a message.

Did you know? Research shows that chronically absent students (students with 10% absences over the school year = 18 absences) are less likely to read on grade level by 3rd grade, are more likely to score lower on standardized tests, get suspended in middle school, and are at least four times more likely to not complete high school.
