100 Days In: Building Momentum for Our Students
The past few months have been a whirlwind. As I look back on my first 100 days as Superintendent of Richmond Heights Local Schools, I’m filled with gratitude, pride and a deep sense of responsibility.
What we’ve been able to accomplish in just a few short months is incredible. We recently received a 5-star Step Up To Quality rating for our preschool program, a testament to the nurturing environment our youngest learners experience. Additionally, we were named a Momentum Award winner for making significant progress on our Ohio School Report Card.
The true measure of success lies beyond awards, however. It happens in the classrooms and through the afterschool programs where dedicated teachers spark curiosity and a love of learning, and where advisors and coaches help students develop their sense of purpose. For example, our students were recently highlighted on TV for their recycling efforts and our varsity boy’s basketball team won their third consecutive Division IV championship.
These achievements are a reflection of our community — our partners, community leaders, families and staff working together toward a common mission. That mission is to prepare individual learners to navigate an evolving global community using 21st century competencies.
Of course, there are also challenges we are working to solve. Financial uncertainty and aging facilities top the list. Your voice is imperative to helping us shape our future. Our Spartan Speaks Community Engagement event was the first of many opportunities where you can share your feedback and ideas about our path forward.
I look forward to the next 100 days and beyond. We will continue our momentum, ensuring every student reaches new heights.

Community News
THANK YOU!!!
Families and Community Members,
Thank you to those who attended our first Spartan Speaks Community Engagement Event on Saturday, April 20th! We received a lot of helpful feedback from voters regarding their insight on the school levy. Through group exercises and panel discussions, there were clarifications on the school's current performance, financial stewardship, and ongoing needs.
As we continue to explore our options for funding the school's operating budget and improvement plan, WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION AND HELP! We plan to have two more sessions in the Spartan Speaks series and each one will have a slightly different focus. Your voice matters and your willingness to invite your neighbors and friends of our Richmond Heights community is paramount to both of our continued success. Please plan to attend each of the events and watch for the dates to be released for May and August. Questions, concerns, and feedback regarding school funding, taxes, or ongoing school information can be emailed to info@richmondheightsschools.org.
We are grateful for our community’s continued partnership in preparing our students for a successful future. It takes all of us.
