APRES Dolphins S.W.I.M. Jan' 25
An Extraordinary Place To Learn
A Message from Head of School Wilson
Greetings Dolphin Families!
Welcome Back and Happy New Year! Can you believe it is already 2025? I hope you all had a wonderful time enjoying family and loved ones over the winter holiday break.
Thank you to those families who donated gift cards and gifts to our staff the last week of December. We were able to surprise 16 staff members during our final week of a "December to Remember." Your thoughtfulness and partnership are greatly appreciated.
I cannot believe we have completed an entire semester and am eager with anticipation for what 2025 has in store for our Dolphin scholars. Let's flash back a moment to the successes we experienced in 2024.
Our scholars had a tremendous first semester. Our iReady Middle of the Year data reports showed that our scholars are growing in both Reading and Math and we are focused on continuing that growth throughout the remainder of the school year. We have improved in Reading by 18%with students reading at or above grade level as evidenced by the MOY diagnostic and decreased the number of students performing 2 or more years below grade level by 13%. In Math we saw a 20% increase in students scoring on or above grade level and a decrease of 14% in our scholars performing 2 or more years below in Mathematics. Your support at home is critical in continuing the growth of our scholars.
As the 2024 CCRPI metrics have been publicized on the Georgia DOE website, I am happy to share our growth with our school community. In the area of Content Mastery (ELA, Math, and Science) Randolph improved from 52.5% in 2023 to 59.4% in 2024.
In the are of Readiness (Lexile Levels, Beyond the Core, and Attendance) Randolph improved from 78.7% in 2022 to 79.9% in 2023.
While we did not see an increase in the area of Progress (measuring student growth in ELA, Math, and Science as compared to academically similar students), Randolph increased in Closing the Gaps (subgroup performance - Economically Disadvantaged, African American/Black, and Students with Disabilities) from 63.6% in 2023 to 100% in 2024.
While we are not where we would ultimately like to be, we are on our way. Please join me in celebrating the work our staff has done and the effort our students put forth to excel in the classroom. We will continue to work diligently to see greater gains in the 2025 school year and we appreciate your continued partnership.
Thank you to those who came out to our 2nd Annual Winter Visual and Performing Arts Showcase. Our scholars really put on a show as they presented "Hip Hop Holidays!" I am filled with anticipation as we await the Spring Showcase.
As you are aware, the weather is changing and respiratory illnesses are on the rise. If your scholar is sick please do NOT bring him/her to school. If the clinic calls you to pick up a sick child you must do so within 30-minutes of the call. This request is out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our scholars and staff. If your scholar has a fever, is vomiting or has diarrhea he/ she will need to be kept home for at least 24-hours after the last symptoms.
I am excited to see all of our scholars on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, and look forward to an EXTRAORDINARY spring semester.
In Partnership,
Head of School Wilson, Proud Dolphin
Fall Semester Report Cards
Fall semester report cards will be available in Infinite Campus on January 16th. If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account please create one to access all of your student's attendance and grade information. Report cards will be sent home in your scholar's VIP folder on Thursday, January 16th.
Change of School Assignment
As you may already know, Fulton County Schools has selected schools who are below 95% of their allotted enrollment to become COSA schools. COSA stands for Change of Student Assignment. This is open to the families in our system who would like to elect to attend another school outside of their assigned zone. Families are able to select their top three choices and will be entered into a lottery to determine acceptance. A detailed email about this process has been shared with all families from our district's communications department. The link below will also provide more information for families considering COSA.

Arrival and Dismissal
- Morning car rider drop-off will take place in the front of the school. Randolph staff will be present at the carpool loop to receive students from 7:10am until 7:40am daily. Parents must park vehicles and escort students into the building and sign-in after 7:40am.
- Refrain from parking in the areas marked no parking as this blocks the bus ramp and could result in damage to your vehicle. This is also a safety concern for our scholars.
- Bus rider parents, school busses depart our campus at 2:25pm daily. The FCS Code of Conduct applies to all students transported by school bus.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY - ANY CAR RIDERS WHO REMAIN AFTER 2:45PM WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR AFTER SCHOOL CARE OR BECOME BUS RIDERS.
- Afternoon car riders will be picked up in the front of the school. Cars will enter through the main entrance to the school from Campbellton Rd. Please have your car rider number ready in the window.
- Afternoon car rider parents, please make sure your scholar is picked up by 2:45pm.
- If picked up from school after 2:45pm, your scholar will be seated in the front office. Please park and come in to sign your scholar out. Parents who fail to pick up their scholars before 2:45pm in excess of 3 times will be required to either use bus transportation or secure after school care. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Safety is our priority.
- Early student pick-up ends at 2:00pm daily. Please contact the school if in need of emergency early pick-up.
Should you arrive after 2:00pm to pick up a student, you will be asked to wait outside with the walk up parents until we begin our dismissal process. Please refrain from engaging front office staff with requests to violate this policy.
Dress Code and Changing Weather
As the weather changes, please be sure your scholar has the appropriate clothing on when he/she leaves home. Also, check your scholar's bookbags for coats or jackets that may not belong to them. Fulton Dress Code-I.13a Improper Dress
Students in the school system are expected to dress and groom themselves in such a way as to reflect neatness, cleanliness and safety. All students shall dress appropriately so as not to disrupt or interfere with the educational program or the orderly operation of the school. Examples of inappropriate dress and grooming include lack of cleanliness in person or dress; shoelessness; "short-short" clothing; bare midriffs; "tank tops"; "see-through" clothing or apparel which designates gangs or similar organizations or any dress that is disruptive to the educational process. Designated dress involving school activities approved by the principal shall be acceptable. The principal or other duly authorized school official shall determine whether any particular mode of dress or grooming results in a violation of the spirit and/or the intent of this rule.
Please remind your scholars to refrain from tying shirts in the back, creating midriff tops and to ensure their skirts and shorts are no more than 3 inches above the knee. We also encourage young ladies to refrain from wearing skirts on PE days.
Here Comes the Bus
If you do not know your scholar's bus stop times or location, log into our transportation portal for this information.
To do this, visit http://edulogweb.fultonschools.org/livewq/webquery/ and type in your street name and number (It works best if you leave off the Rd, St suffix, i.e. Cascade instead of Cascade Rd.)
Parents are encouraged to sign up for our free “Here Comes the Bus” app that allows students and parents to track their bus in real time. Alerts notify parents when the bus is just a few blocks away from the bus stop, offering safety for students and peace of mind for parents.
School Nutrition
Fulton County Schools offers healthy meals daily. This year all Randolph students will receive free breakfast and lunch. Parents can load money on their student’s account for extra sales, view account balances and purchase history, and set up low-balance reminders by visitingwww.mypaymentsplus.com. Cash payments may also be made at your student’s school.
While we are a free breakfast and lunch school, parents who may qualify for free and/or reduced lunch must complete an application each year. A NEW application must be completed for the 2024-2025 school year. Free & Reduced Meal Applications are available anytime online. Visit www.fulton.schoollunchapp.com to begin the online application process. Families may obtain a paper application from any school cafeteria. If able, all families are encouraged to complete an online application.
Who To Contact at Randolph
The relationship between the school community and families is critical. It is important that our staff is able to meet the needs of our stakeholders in the most effective way possible. We often think the first point of contact in the school setting should be the principal, however, there are staff who have specialized assignments within the building. These team members are often better able to assist more efficiently than the principal as certain requests fall directly in their line of duty. In order to receive the most efficient service, please use the "Who Do I Contact" list as a guide for which team member can best support you

Thank you to those who have joined our PTA. If you have not had the chance to join, please scan the QR code located at the front entrance of our school. Membership for parents is $20 and student membership is $10.

We are excited to welcome volunteers into our building! We love having volunteers on a regular basis.
