OSOB Concludes Next Week
NF's annual OSOB month-long program concludes on Thursday, March 20. On this day, students and staff will participate in a school-wide assembly, complete with prizes and gifts for everyone. This is always a real treat, and is perfect in its timing right before Spring Break. The staff really enjoys this program as much as the children. Special thanks to Mrs. Mileti, the chief engineer behind this experience. Likewise, kudos to the entire staff who play a significant role in shaping the scavenger hunt, recorded readings, artwork, class pictures, Family Engagement Night, and so much more.
Ohio State Testing Impacts April School Schedule
Each Spring, students in grades 3-12 are mandated to complete both an English Language Arts and math assessment. For our upper grade students, these tests take (4) days to complete during the month of April. Please see the "Important Dates" section below for specific dates and times. The assessments are designed to address the academic standards at each grade level. As such, there is little preparation to do at home other than promoting proper sleep, great nutrition and positive support. As a school community NF typically scores very well on these assessments, garnering praise from the state of Ohio. In fact, NF has earned an "A" status ever since the state has been providing grades. Results of your child's assessments won't arrive at the school until the summer months. Ultimately, parents will receive their child's individual score report, most likely in early fall.
