GCHS Family November Newsletter
From Mrs. Shannon
We are a quarter of the way through...
and we have hit our stride. Do you ever wonder what you can ask your high school student to get more information out of them about their day?
- Where did you go/where are you going for Seminar this week?
- What did you talk about in Advisory this week?
- Who is an adult you trust at GCHS?
- What class do you like the most/least? Why?
- What help do you need at school?
As we prepare for a season of gratitude, I'd like to say how thankful I am to be working with the students and staff at GCHS. Our staff appreciates having a partnership with you, and we look forward to deepening that partnership as the year goes on and at the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences (more info below).
Have a wonderful season of thanksgiving.
With Gratitude,
Mrs. Shannon

A Note from GCHS Music Directors, Mr. Dave Heupel and Mr. Wes Anderson:
"Making All-State is the highest honor a high school musician can achieve. (I see the similarity to making it to state wrestling, cross country, or state track.) But even though making it is a fantastic honor, my favorite part is the process. Auditioning for All State means sacrificing hundreds of hours to study and practice in pursuit of musical excellence. The increase I see in work ethic, leadership, as well as talent and ability that all the kids auditioning display is why all-state is one of my favorite things we do all year."
Congratulations to all of these musicians! We are proud of your dedication and hard work!
Congratulations to senior, Noah Hinote, for his third trip to State Cross Country!

🥼 From Nurse Deb:
We are in full swing of the Cold,Flu, Covid & RSV season...
A few friendly reminders...
Please do NOT send your child to school if he/she has or has had:
1. Fever more than 100.4 degrees within the last 24 hours.
(must be fever free without medication)
2. Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
3. Continuous coughing not relieved with cough medicine.
4. Oozing wound/rash that cannot be covered up.
Please help us teach reinforce to your student good health habits to protect themselves:
1. Plenty of rest and nutritious food are needed.
2. Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of healthy fluids-(pop and energy drinks don’t count)
3. Hand hygiene! This is one of the BEST ways to prevent the spread of germs.
Since parents need to be called when a student becomes ill at school, we need current
telephone numbers. Please inform the school immediately of any change in your
telephone number(s).
Thank you in advance for working with us to keep our Ram “family” healthy and in school.
Sincerely,
-Nurse Deb Wolterman, RN-BSN
