Message from the Principal

Greetings Findley Community~

Tonight is our annual Spring Carnival. A fun, family event that has a long history here at Findley. We are very excited to see everyone out this evening for what will be a fantastic time.

Field Day is June 9! Thank you for those who have sign up to volunteer. We could not do it without you. This year's Field Day will be a bit different than Field Days in the past. There are over 20 stations for students to check out with their classmates and friends. Our schedule for Field Day is as follows:

9:00 - 10:25 K-2 Field Day

10:35 - 12:00 3-5 Field Day

Lunch for each group will directly follow their Field Day session. Lunch will be picnic style on the grassy field. Students are encouraged to bring a lunch from home, however, school lunch will be available.

Other items to consider sending with your student on Field Day:

  • sunscreen
  • hat
  • towel/blanket-for sitting on at lunch
  • change of dry clothes & towel (some stations involve water play!)

We are looking forward to a fun day! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask~

Hope to see you tonight!

With Gratitude,

Sherry Marsh, Ed.D

Medication Pick-Up

As you know, the last day of school for students is Tuesday, June 10th. Please pick-up any medication left in the health room. After the office closes for the summer, leftover medication must be disposed. We are not allowed to store medications for students over the summer.

Please have a parent/guardian come to pick up the medications by June 18th.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the office at 503-356-2100.

Updates from Technology-Mrs. Jain

5th grade explored programming micro:bits for the first time — a great introduction to coding with hardware.

4th and 5th graders completed their 3D name printing project.

Grades 3–5 experimented with Makey Makey, using everyday objects to create fun, interactive circuits and games.

All grades spent time coding and enhancing their digital citizenship skills by playing Interland, a fun and educational game by Google that helps students become Internet Awesome.
