7, 14, 21 - Morning Storytime (Ages 3-5) at El Modena branch 10:30-11:00am
1,8,15 - Morning Storytime (Ages 3-5) at Taft branch 10:30-11:00am
2,9,16 - Toddler Storytime (Ages 2-5) at Orange Public Library 10:30-11:00am
3, 10,17 - Lapsit Storytime (Newborn to age 2) at Orange Public Library 10:30-11:00am
20 - Dinosaur Crafternoon (ages 3-12) @ Taft Branch 3:00-4:30pm
22 - Family Bilingual Storytime (ages 2-5) at Orange Public Library 6:30-7pm
23 - Free eye exams @ Taft branch @ 9am-4pm (ages 3-12)
Preschool Enrollment
It's not too late to enroll your child in OUSD preschool for your 3 or 4 year old child! We have several options to choose from:
- Free part-day programs located on OUSD elementary school campuses
- California, Cambridge, Esplanade, Fairhaven, Jordan, Lampson, Olive, Palmyra, Sycamore and Taft locations open!
- Handy & LaVeta opening soon!
- All of our programs are rated 5 star and supported by Quality Start OC
- Call (714) 628-5577 and speak to Monica or Nancy to see if your child is eligible to attend.
- Parent-paid full day program at the OUSD Child Development Center located at 2345 E. Palmyra Ave. in Orange. Registration open year-round.
- Hours are 7am-4pm (7am-5pm for extended care).

Movie in the Park
Thank you to AYSO for sponsoring the City of Orange Movie in the Park event for October. Seating on the lawn will begin at 5:45. Bring your family and a blanket or chairs to watch the movie The Book of Life. This is a free family event with light snacks for purchase.
Love Orange Citywide Volunteer Day

Parent Engagement Workshop
Join us on Wednesday, October 16th at 9:00 for our free October Parent Engagement Workshop! The topic for October is Potty Training (aka Toileting Independence). Join us for tips and walk away with resources galore! Check out the flyer and bring a friend!
Our Early Learning Community Center is located at 2345 E. Palmyra Ave. Park on Yorba Street and look for the pink, yellow, and blue balloons! Childcare available.
Read for the Record Day
On October 24th, all of our preschool, TK and Learning Link locations will join Early Learning programs around California to read the story, "Piper Chen Sings". This event is put on by Jump Start and you can find out more about it here: https://www.jstart.org/jumpstarts-read-for-the-record/
We are so excited for all of our OUSD Early Learning programs to participate in this event and model the value of reading to our kids.
Treats in the Streets

Orange Home Grown Fall Festival
Join Orange Home Grown on October 26th from 9am to 1pm for their Fall Festival. There will be a petting zoo, kids craft, live music & more. Costumes are encouraged!

Active Parenting Opportunity Coming Soon!
We have an online Active Parenting series coming in November! This series is specific for parents of children 0-5 and will last for six weeks. Sessions will be 9-11am each Tuesday, starting November 5, and is hosted by Olive Crest. Class size is limited and participants must pre-register. See the link for more information. CLICK HERE
