We are passionate about serving military children & families! Here are some interesting stats from our staff survey:

From 67 responses our staff is compromised of the following (with 12 staff members fitting in multiple categories):

5 individuals with prior military service

18 spouses of active-duty service members

18 spouses of retired service members

15 military "brats"

2 parents of service members

5 spouses of non-retired veterans

1 active duty full-time, short-term volunteer

1 gold star family member

5 connected to the military through siblings, grandparents, in-laws, cousins, aunts/uncles

9 whose military connection is simply that they love serving military families

USD 207 and FMWR are hosting the Summer Kick-Off on Friday, May 10th! This event is open to the community, with FREE entry (gate access required). Mechanical rides, inflatables, a DJ, food trucks/concessions and a GREAT time are expected!

Walking is highly encouraged. If driving, park at the FCC, where a shuttle will be available. For the safety of all in attendance, please keep pets at home. We will have each station staffed to operate equipment- child supervision will be the responsibility of the parents/guardians.

*in the event of inclement weather causing unsafe conditions, the event will be canceled.

This spring, our staff will work on many planning items for the 2024-2025 school year. One of those is class placement for every returning child. You, as parents, know your children best and may wish to share some information about them which will help us make that decision. If you would like to share information about your child’s learning style or something else which in your mind could interfere with your child’s learning, I invite you to fill out the attached form. You may simply want to describe the kind of learning environment in which you know your child will flourish.

The letters should not contain requests for an individual teacher, but rather additional information which will help select the right classroom for your child based upon your child’s needs. Be assured with or without a letter from parents, our staff will review each child’s needs individually and select the classroom in which we believe s/he will learn best. To do so, we will begin the process this spring and complete it with extreme care as many factors are considered.

Parent letters are for principal review only and are confidential. Please do not discuss this type of information with your child's current teacher as it puts them in an uncomfortable spot. Please direct all questions/concerns to me.
