Just a reminder there is no school on Monday, January 20th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
ELECTRONICS AT SCHOOL
We have noticed that a number of students have cell phones and watches. If your child has a cell phone, phones should be off and in backpacks during school hours. If your child has a smart watch, communications should be off during school hours. If you need to communicate with your child, it is important that calls go through the school office.

MESSAGE FROM MICHELLE STEWART
Do you know someone who would like to work part time in a great environment? Happy Valley is looking for teaching assistants for the 2025-26 school year. If you are interested, please contact Michelle Stewart (mstewart@hvesd.com).
Library: The shelving is being put up over the next few weeks. Once that happens, we need LOTS of volunteers to put the books back on the shelves. Once the library is put back together, teachers can start taking students in there. (If you would like to volunteer at any time to help check in or out and shelve books throughout the year, please let Michelle Stewart know!)
Construction Update: We are preparing to close out our construction project in the next month. Once everything is signed off and submitted to the state, we can begin to prepare for the student restroom installation. Unfortunately, since our current construction project has taken so long, we have to wait for the State's required audit procedure to be completed before we can move forward. We will let the community know when we have a new date. Additionally, Happy Valley continues to face similar financial challenges as other districts across the state. Because of this, the Board is taking a proactive approach to ensuring we remain financially solvent. We have begun addressing long term budgetary shortfalls at our monthly board meetings, and have also created a short term fundraising committee to reach out to the local community. If you would like to serve on this committee, please contact Michelle Stewart or Board President Cliff Hodges (chodges@hvesd.com). Thank you!

MESSAGE FROM THE GARDEN
Dear HV families,
The HV garden is in need of wood signs that we could paint for the garden. We are looking for a carpenter family member that has some scrap wood and could make some for us. If this is a possibility please email Mr. Bowie at cbowie@hvesd.com. We need five plywood signs 16 inches by 24 inches for orchard trees and 20 smaller ones for identifying vegetables in the garden. Please see the photo with examples of ones we painted for my other school. The top part is good but we found the stakes were too short. Please email me if you are interested in helping and thank you all for supporting and beautifying our garden program.
