Paradise Place ETNS Newsletter
News this week - 22 April 2024
Dear parents, carers, staff and friends,
Welcome to Paradise Place ETNS
This last week has been an exciting week for our school as we changed patronage to Educate Together on Monday 15th April and became Paradise Place ETNS.
We had an assembly on Monday to talk to the children about our new name and our new logo.
We have had lovely messages from all over our local community from people sending us their best wishes for the change and who've asked me to share their best wishes with all of you.
Our new Board of Management will meet this week and we also have a 'Transition Team' made up of teachers, inclusion assistants, parents/carers and children who are going to work together to make a plan for introducing our new Educate Together ethos over the next year. No changes will happen straight away - we will talk to everyone about any changes we are making and listen to everyone's view. If you are interested in being part of the Transition Team, please contact the school office or speak to Eadaoin or Brid.
Consultation about uniform
When we spoke to parents/carers about changing patronage, one of the key issues we talked about was uniform. We know that parents/carers want a clear plan and for decisions to be made soon.
We want to gather as many ideas and opinions as possible, so after our mid-term break in May, we will be organising a series of meetings for parents/carers to talk to you about what you would like. We will share dates with you closer to the time.
Here are some questions to think about:
- would you like your child to wear a uniform every day?
- if yes, what kind of uniform would you like your child to wear?
- how can we reduce costs for families with uniforms?
- have you any other ideas that you'd like to share?
Attendance for April
Football Team News
Well done to our girls and boys' football teams who have been representing us at a number of matches recently. The children have trained well, demonstrated good sportsmanship and had lots of fun! Thanks to Páid Sadlier and James O'Shea who have led the teams.
Maths Open Session for Families
We are inviting all parents/carers to join us on Wednesday 1st May for a fun Maths session in your child's class. We will play some games and have lots of fun. The games will be prepared for you and the teachers will show you what you need to do. You can even bring them home to play afterwards. We look forward to seeing lots of you there.
Survey - Tesco
We are very grateful to receive bags of food for families each week from Tesco as part of their Stronger Starts programme. They have asked if parents/carers could complete the survey below - it won't take too long and there is a draw for a €50 voucher for everyone who completes it.
