Content Recovery Opportunity
Dear Parent/Guardian:
In an effort to support our students who did not master first/second quarter learning standards we are providing “content recovery” sessions.
The program begins on Monday, January 20th and concludes Wednesday, March 19th. Students will be assigned to a certified core content teacher who will be available to assist students in the self-paced course. Students will be graded based on academic performance in the program. Students who successfully complete the program with a grade of 60 or higher will have their quarter average replaced with a 60.
This is a self-paced course where students will work at their own speed with guidance and support from certified core content teachers.
Students are expected to comply with all rules and classroom procedures as defined by the F1S Code of Conduct. Students who fail to follow school and classroom expectations will be dismissed from the program.
There is no cost for the program, however, students must follow the F1S Technology and Behavior Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with these guidelines and expectations will result in dismissal from the program and credit will not be given to students.
To register for this program, please complete the Content Recovery form
Personal Device Guidelines
The South Carolina State Board of Education approved a statewide model cell phone earlier this year. School districts and boards across the state have been working to finalize their policies. Statewide implementation begins in January 2025. Please see the overview and guidelines below to learn how this policy will be implemented in Florence 1 Schools.
Overview
To promote the best possible learning and social environment in Florence 1 Schools, students are expected to adhere to the guidelines listed below during the school day. This overview is intended to provide specific guidance on expectations in accordance to the new state policy and as approved in Board Policy JICDA-Student Code of Conduct and Administrative Rule JICDA-R-Student Code of Conduct.
If a student brings an unauthorized device or a phone onto a Florence 1 Schools property, they are personally and solely responsible for the care and security of their devices.
