Thank you, Mr. Delbert for dropping by this yummy bread from Santa in appreciation for cleaning up the flower beds!
Taking Care of Business
Spring is here and so are all those pesky weeds in the flower beds!
We want to give a special THANK YOU to all the parents, grandparents, and friends who helped spruce up the landscaping on campus this week.
School Tours, Screeners, Shadow Students, and New Families
We've had several busy days lately with new prospective families. If you see some new faces around campus, they most likely are visiting to learn more about enrolling at CCS.
Music Leaders
Music students are doing a great job with Mrs. Warden in leading worship for devotion and chapel services at the upper school. These beginner guitar players stepped up to lead on Thursday.
Guest Speaker
Both lower school and upper school students got to hear a special word on Thursday from Caleb Bates, Assistant Teaching Pastor at Temple Baptist.

Finding Space
Mr. Yearwood, Mr. Hampton, and the Board of Directors have been working to find solutions for needed classroom space during this time of preparation for building. As described during the State of the School Address held in January, we are out of physical space and are prayerfully seeking God's guidance as we move forward.
Please join us in prayer by praying specifically for God's leadership in finding classroom space and campus solutions, making enrollment and financial decisions, and discussing future building plans.
Tennis Matches
The tennis teams have been traveling lots of miles to compete against teams in our region. Players are learning a lot and they will soon be competing in post-season tournament play.

PreACT and ACT (Grades 7-11)
Test day for upper school students is coming up next week! The PreACT and The ACT are fantastic ways to measure college readiness, help students gain insight into their potential future careers, and open doors for college scholarship opportunities.
All students in grades 7-11 will be testing on Tuesday, April 8th.
- PreACT: 7th, 8th, 9th Grade
- ACT: 10th and 11th Grade
School will start at normal time; 8:05 AM. Testing will begin by 8:15. We should be finished around lunch. Students who are in the spring musical will be practicing the remainder of the day.
Upper School Spring Musical
The upper school Drama and Chorus students have been working hard on the spring musical, Something Rotten, Jr.
Something Rotten! JR. tells the story of two brothers who set out to write the world's first musical in this hilarious mash-up of sixteenth-century Shakespeare and twenty-first-century Broadway.
SATURDAY - SHOW DAY, 2nd performance! The show begins at 6:00! (Doors will open at 5:30.)
Iowa & CogAT Testing (Grades 2-6)
Student assessment is important as a means of measuring progress, but it should not be a source of stress for students and teachers. Sometimes this stress is not only because of the length of testing, but also because of the emphasis placed on it. Our hope is that by breaking things down in smaller chunks and maintaining daily routines that the students can enjoy school days that are pretty close to normal schedule without all the fuss. No need to interrupt PE or lunch or recess; those things they all enjoy!
Classroom teachers will be sharing information with parents soon.
Make-Up Pictures
Photo Make-Up Day will be April 17th for the 3rd Grade Boys, 6th Grade Girls, and Jr. High Boys basketball teams.
Other Important Items
Tuition Payments and Student Records
Tuition payments for families are managed through FACTS. We are excited to announce that beginning in the fall, CCS will also be using FACTS for daily operations and student records! This will make everything more streamlined and mobile friendly. Parents will be able to manage accounts, pay balances, order lunches, check grades and attendance, and much more all in one place!
FACTS will be one stop shopping for everything!
We will be transitioning all student records and functions (including tuition payments, lunch ordering, before/after care management, grades, attendance, and communications) to FACTS.
Here’s what you need to know:
All families will need a FACTS account.
Great news… Most of you already have an account!
If you do not have an account, you will create one here https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3CZ07
Gradelink will no longer be used after this school year.
All payments and financial statements and contracts will be through FACTS.
All hot lunch orders will be done through FACTS.
All things academic, like grades and attendance will be monitored through FACTS.
All before/after care attendance and billing will be through FACTS.
Communication services for delays, cancellations, and announcements will be through FACTS.
The best part…. FACTS is MOBILE FRIENDLY! No more swapping back and forth to different services and platforms! You will be able to do everything from your phone.

The CHOOSE Act (Alabama's School Choice Act)
By now you should have heard that Alabama lawmakers passed a new education savings account program, the CHOOSE Act, earlier this year. They have now launched a new website that provides the latest information about the program, including eligibility information.
The family application process for the 2025-2026 school year opened on January 2, 2025 and will close on April 7, 2025.
Funding for eligible students includes up to $7,000 per participating student enrolled in a participating school. CCS is an approved, participating school.
Visit the link below for more information.
Proof of Enrollment for the Alabama CHOOSE Act
If you have applied for the Alabama Choose Act, you will soon be receiving an email from info@factsmgmt.com requesting you to upload proof of enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. To receive this proof of enrollment, first you need to have re-enrolled your child for next school year and paid the re-enrollment fee.
Once that has been completed, please email Mrs. Smothers at jada.smothers@cullmanchristian.com and she will send you the proof that you will need.
Please remember that all families seeking financial assistance must apply first through the Alabama CHOOSE Act and Scholarship For Kids before being considered for school concessionary rates.
The DEADLINE to apply for the CHOOSE Act is Monday, April 7th.
More details about the CHOOSE Act and Scholarship For Kids (SFK) can be found in emails from Mrs. Yearwood and in this brief VIDEO.
KEY POINTS
- As per the Financial Assistance Policy --- All students are subject to full tuition and fee rates. New and returning families who seek financial assistance are required to submit an application for financial aid through both the CHOOSE Act process and the Scholarship for Kids process in addition to completing the standard enrollment application annually. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide any documentation required for applications, as well as meet respective application deadlines.
- The CHOOSE Application closes on April 7th. This application must be submitted online at https://classwallet.com/alchoose/. Completing the CHOOSE Act application is required regardless of income for those seeking financial assistance.
- The Scholarship For Kids Application is a paper application that must be turned in to the school office. The deadline for new applications (Group C) is May 7th. The deadline for renewals (Groups A & B) was April 4th.
- Families who do not meet the income guidelines for SFK may submit a waiver. The waiver was emailed to parents or you may pick up a copy in the school office.
If you have questions, please email Mrs. Yearwood at amanda.yearwood@cullmanchristian.com.
