Students wear their masks while at outside at recess. The winter weather is causing the masks to become wet and damp, making them uncomfortable to wear.. Please send a spare mask with your child. Thanks!
A Word from Mrs. Buch and Mr. Walton
It has been a busy week at Westgate! Below are a few important pieces of information:
Clarification:
- Before winter break, some students who receive support services were invited back to 4 days of in-person learning. Students qualifying for this opportunity received an individual email. If you did not receive a specific email regarding your child, they would remain in their current choice of the 2-day hybrid or remote learning model.
- All families received an email from Dr. Bein asking parents to choose between attending 4 days of in-person learning or remote learning when the district moves to the Step 4 In-Person or Remote Learning Model on January 19th, should the metrics be met, and it is deemed safe to do so. We will stay in the Step 3-Hybrid and Remote Learning Model, our current model, if the metrics are not met. Please look for future communication regarding moving to the Step 4 In-Person or Remote Learning Model.
Hybrid Students Switching to Remote Learning for Short Periods of Time
- Over the past few months, we have allowed hybrid students to move to remote learning for short periods of time upon request. As of January 19th, we ask students who have selected hybrid or in-person learning to attend in-person on their scheduled days unless they have an illness related or scheduled absence.
- If a family has a safety concern, we ask that you consider moving to remote learning until our next selection date. We ask that you do not request to be remote daily or for short periods of time as this is incredibly difficult to manage and creates many challenges with contact tracing. Thank you for your partnership and understanding!
We wish you a healthy and happy weekend!
~Ann and Scott
Please be sure to include the nurse and office staff when notifying teachers of an illness with your child.
