Inspiring and Challenging Our Students
A Message from the Superintendent of Schools
Dear BCSD Families and Community Members:
This is our last edition of the school year. We sincerely hope our students had a positive and productive year of learning. In this edition, we highlight student achievements in our schools and programs. We also wish our retirees well in their future endeavors.
Please note the "All Call" for Board of Education Advisory Committees for 2019-20 immediately below. BCSD students and families, we wish you a pleasant summer break.
Best Regards,
Dr. Christopher Manno, Superintendent of Schools
Welcome New School District Leaders!
Please join in welcoming and wishing congratulations to two new members of the BCSD leadership team.
Ms. Cynthia Hawthorne has been appointed as our new Assistant Superintendent of Business and Administrative Services. Ms. Hawthorne emerged as the finalist in our search after an extensive hiring process that involved Board members, support staff, teachers, and administrators. Cynthia brings nineteen years of highly successful finance and operations experience in the public and private sectors.
We are also pleased to announce Mr. Adam Lodewick's appointment to the position of Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics. Mr. Lodewick was the standout candidate of a multi-step process that included representatives from the community as well as faculty and staff. Mr. Lodewick comes to Bedford with seven years of experience as an Athletic Director. Adam is also an experienced elementary and physical education teacher.
We are confident Cynthia and Adam will serve BCSD's students and families successfully.
Congratulations FLHS Class of 2019!
