Bloomingdale Avenue School
Hello Bloomingdale Families,
This week Bloomingdale Avenue School celebrated National Inclusive Schools Week. Inclusion means all together. It is an idea that all people, no matter their abilities, all have a common bond as human beings and no one should be excluded. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade explored the meaning of the word include while students in 2nd grade viewed video clips that demonstrated examples of individuals being proud of who they are and how they can take actions to be more inclusive towards others.
We also held our BAS Winter Chorus Concert on Monday. Our 2nd grade performers, under the guidance of Ms. McDonald, put on a stellar show for members of their family. Their renditions of Mittens and Gloves, Winter Wiggles, and Winter Fun were outstanding!
Lastly but certainly not least, Bloomingdale Avenue School is proud to announce that the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year at BAS is Mrs. Zabludovsky and the 2024-2025 Educational Service Professional of the Year is Mrs. Cascone. The Governor's Educator of the Year program recognizes teachers who are exemplary professionals in their field. Recipients are nominated by their school communities. Both of these individuals are more than deserving of this recognition and we cannot be anymore happier for them.
Take care Bloomingdale,
Mr. Litz and the BAS Staff

Kindergarten Q & U Wedding
Students in Full Day Kindergarten, AM Kindergarten, and PM Kindergarten gathered together to celebrate the joining of Q and U in words. Students all represented various letters at the ceremony, coloring words that start with their assigned letter and also rejoicing in the special day for Q and U. The celebration continued throughout the day as students explored various activities and words that use Q and U. It was a wonderful learning experience for all of our Kindergarten students.
Cold Weather is Upon Us
As the weather continues to get colder, students will begin to wear jackets as they come to school and go to recess. Please know that we will go outside for recess when the temperature is 32 degrees or above. Students may also wear a hat and/or gloves for recess as well. Please show each piece of clothing some "label love" by writing your child's first and last name inside of each article of clothing. It is also helpful to label water bottles and lunch boxes as well. We continue to collect items in the Lost and Found that are not labeled.
