St. Thomas School
Mid-Week Memo: November 6, 2024
Our Mission:
St. Thomas School serves the parishes of St. Therese of Lisieux, Holy Spirit, and St. Matthew.
In partnership with the family, we are dedicated to nurturing the personal development of the whole child. Our mission is to instill Catholic values, foster self-discipline, and promote academic excellence in the spirit of a caring, affirming community.

Greetings, St. Thomas families!
What an incredible 5K Mingle Jingle we had this past weekend! We are thrilled to share that we had a record number of sponsors and runners! Thank you to Kerra Harmon, Tatiana Murphy, and Morgan Lee Brooks, who helped organize and run the entire event. It was a huge success!
Running Club Running club will continue to meet until Thanksgiving break. Their final two sessions will be today (11/6) and Wednesday (11/20). (No running club will be held on 11/13).
Report Cards With our transition to FACTS, report cards are having a couple bumps. In the event that your child’s class is unable to bring home reports on Friday, you will be notified.
Mass Attendance Every Sunday mass (or Saturday celebration) is a Holy Day of Obligation, meaning Catholics are required to attend. Fr. Bill has expressed a concern with the lack of families he is seeing at mass on the weekends. (Please see his write-up from a past bulletin attached to your email). The parish staff and some of us at St. Thomas School collaborated on an idea to help increase attendance. Starting at the first mass of our liturgical year (the first Sunday of Advent), December 1st, students will have a “Passport” to bring with them to mass (these will come home before Thanksgiving). They may get a sticker, a stamp, or a special marking to show that they attended mass that weekend. We will do special drawings for students who attended each weekend of the month to earn some great prizes! Above all, we want our students and our families to know and feel what a gift each mass is to us. This special gift is an invitation from Jesus to sit with Him, worship, sing, and consume His very Body to impart His grace upon us. Who could ask for more than that from our Savior?! Accept Jesus’ gift whenever you can and blessings will rain down … He wants us to have His grace!
