i-Ready Fall Diagnostic Testing
Over the course of the next two weeks, your child will spend time completing their i-Ready Fall Diagnostic Assessment during their ELA and Math classes. i-Ready has replaced the NWEA MAP Test as a tool to help us understand students' academic needs as well as monitor their growth throughout the year. The i-Ready Diagnostic will be given in the fall, winter, and spring and used to help place students on their individualized instructional path in i-Ready. Please see the letter below for more detailed information.
Homework HUB Starts Up!
Homework HUB begins after school on Tuesday, September 3rd. Homework HUB is an opportunity for students to stay after school in the LMC to work on homework or projects with support of a teacher. Homework HUB is staffed by two AMS teachers Monday-Thursday who are there to help students with any work they have. Students can also utilize Homework Hub to retake tests as well. Students may leave when they are finished, or they can take the 3:45 late bus. Homework HUB does not meet on Fridays.

Curriculum Night Presentations and Handouts
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Curriculum Night! We hope you found the evening informative and engaging. Attached here you can find the information shared at the welcome assembly, the parent sessions, and the handouts.
Community Engagement Series
Salt Creek District 48 will be hosting a community engagment series in which we use Jonathan Haidt's book, The Anxious Generation, as a guide for conversation around how we can best support today's youth. About his book, Haidt states, "My central claim in this book is that these two trends--overprotection in the real world and under-protection in the virtual world--are the major reasons why children born after 1995 became the anxious generation."

Student Attendance at Willowbrook Games
Greetings from Willowbrook High School.
We are excited to kick off our 2024 flag and tackle football season. As a reminder, for our home games, any student who is not in high school needs to be accompanied by their parent/guardian. When students who are not yet in high school arrive at the gate (we ask for student IDs), our Deans will ask if a parent/guardian is present with them. If they are not, the student will not be allowed to enter.
Thanks in advance for understanding these safety and security measures and we look forward to seeing you at our games this season.
Sincerely,
Dr. Krause
Principal of WBHS
