Principal's Message
Thomas families,
Did you hear about Jackpot Day?
You already know that Thomas students earn TIGER Tickets for demonstrating the TIGER Way at school (trustworthy, inclusive, growing, empathetic, and responsible). We made things even more special last week when we had our first ever Jackpot Day!
At the end of the day, we got on the loudspeaker and announced that anyone who had earned a TIGER ticket that day should come down to meet us in the commons for a special prize (extra recess). The kids had no idea this would happen.
What an absolute delight it was!
Kids came down to the commons with joy all over their faces. The room was, nearly literally, buzzing. When we went outside for a mere 8 minutes of extra recess, you would have thought we just gave them all unlimited Roblox bucks. They played on the playground one-handed, because their other hand was tightly gripping their treasured TIGER ticket. In short, it was wonderful.
We plan to have random, surprise Jackpot Days throughout the school year to continue to incentivize students to earn TIGER Tickets. They never know when they might HIT THE JACKPOT!
Go Tigers,
Melissa Garris

Rising Pneumonia Cases: What Parents Need to Know
We’ve seen a rise in cases of pneumonia across Dublin City Schools, and we want to ensure parents stay informed. Pneumonia, an infection that inflames the lungs, can lead to a variety of symptoms, including cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. Early recognition is essential, especially as these symptoms overlap with other seasonal illnesses. For more information on pneumonia, please refer to What is Pneumonia from the NIH and our pneumonia fact sheet from the CDC, which provide insights into prevention, symptoms, and when to seek care.
