Attendance Awareness Month raises public awareness that students who have good attendance in September are most likely to thrive all year. Research shows that just missing two or more days of school in September is a warning sign that a student is more likely to have problems with attendance the rest of the year.
🚨 Absences Add Up: Missing just two days a month means a child misses 10% of the school year.

This award represents a significant achievement and reflects the CVUSD’s commitment to transparency and high-quality financial reporting.
The CVUSD earned the Certificate of Excellence for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ending 2023. This is the fourth consecutive year that the District has received this recognition. Click here to read more.
We are proud to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While Chromebooks are provided at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for families to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.
📍 Important Note: Coverage must be in place prior to a claim being submitted = the time is now to secure Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection for your student's chromebook!
Measure I in Action: NPHS's Quad Hardscape & Landscape Modernization Project
Measure I is making a big impact at our Newbury Park High School with the recent completion of the campus's quad hardscape and landscape modernization project. Over the summer, construction crews transformed the school's quad with the addition of new pathways, updated landscape, enhanced seating spaces (with over 30 tables and 25 new benches), and more. Thank you Measure I, the voter-approved school facilities bond, for enhancing our school communities!
💡 Student Spotlight: Congratulations to Westlake High 12th grade student, Thomas B. for being awarded a Future Leaders Exchange Abroad Scholarship from the U.S. State Department! Thomas is one of only 20 students selected competitively from across the United States for this merit-based award. Through Thomas’s participation in FLEX Abroad, he will be at the forefront of citizen diplomacy, serving as a “youth ambassador” in his host country of Kazakhstan, where he will live with a host family, study for the 2024-25 academic year and develop the skills necessary to be a leader in the global community.
