River Hawk Talk
October 1, 2024
First month is done!
What's Happening?
PE with Mr. OG
In PE with Mr. OG, they've been crossing the river! This is a group skip building activity. Students utilize cooperation, communication, and listening skills. The teamwork challenge game has students imagining crossing a river, only using a "log and lily pads". Ask your student how their team crossed the river!
Science with Mrs. Westlake
Our 6th graders are learning about genetics! The students performed a lab where they were able to pull and see their own DNA strands!
Shout outs for Music!
Ms. Fredriksen is noticing some musical talent in our students!
Dezmon has been showing his piano skills, and 4th grade can really rock it during lunch with a rendition of "We Will Rock You"!
How Your Student Gets Home
We understand that there may be changes in how your student gets home, and we want to ensure a smooth process for everyone involved. To request a change in your child's afternoon transportation—whether it’s riding a different bus or being picked up—please provide a signed note from a parent or guardian. All changes must be submitted to the office and approved by 1:45 PM, unless there is an emergency. If you need to get your student off the bus for any reason, please check in at the office and we will support you in this process. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure that all students arrive safely at their designated destinations after school. Thank you for your support!

We want your feedback!
Open House
We had more than half our families show up to Open House! It was great to see your smiles, hear your laughter, and connect with you!
We always want to improve our events. Please fill out our survey HERE to give us feedback on how the event went for you!
T-shirts for Sale!
Would you like to buy your student a River Hawk t-shirt? We're selling them for $15. We have kids sizes (small, medium, large, x-large) and adult small. We accept cash or check. Please check in with the front office if you'd like to buy one!
Trunk or Treat
We are excited to announce our first Trunk or Treat! We will host this event on the West Campus side parking lot. Our teachers will be out with fun treats to hand out. Please enter through the parking lot on Pine Street and you will make your way towards Beck Field. We're excited to see you!
Lost and Found
We have some coats, jackets, and sweatshirts that have lost their home. Are your students missing anything? Come down or encourage your student to look through our lost and found located on each campus in the cafeteria.
