This time of year is extremely emotional for me, as we send off our students into the summer. Many of them will be back in the fall, some of them will be moving, and our seniors are taking that next step. Seeing our students and staff at banquets, concerts, celebrations, and of course graduation is the ultimate win. Thank you for all of your hard work and helping our students to be successful this year. I am beyond proud! ROO PRIDE IS JUSTIFIED !

Every year there is a particular meteor shower in May called the Eta Aquariids meteor shower. Discovered in 1870, this meteor shower passes by Earth between April 19 and May 28. It’s easiest to view it from the equatorial regions of the world and can be glimpsed passing by just before dawn.

May is pretty exclusive when it comes to days of the week. No other month in one single year starts or finishes on the same weekday as May. Basically, if the first of May is on a Friday, and the 31st of May is on a Sunday, no other months in the year will start or end on a Friday or a Sunday!

The birthstone for May is the emerald. Emeralds are a type of stone called beryl and typically range from a deep-sea green to a lighter color. Emeralds are symbols of fertility and rebirth.

May actually has two birth flowers – Lily-of-the-Valley and the Hawthorn. The Hawthorn flower is a symbol of hope, while the Lily-of-the-Valley represents the return of happiness and sweetness.

These students have signed with colleges and universities to continue pursuing their creative dreams, and we couldn’t be more proud of their dedication, artistry, and hard work.

Last week, we were incredibly proud to honor the Top 10 Students of the Graduating Class of 2025! These outstanding seniors were recognized last night at the prestigious Star Makers Banquet, celebrating their exceptional academic achievements, leadership, and dedication throughout their high school journey.

On last Wednesday night, we celebrated the heart, hustle, and hard work of our Killeen High School male athletes at the 2025 Boys' Athletic Banquet!

Thank you to our coaches, families, and community for your continued support—and most importantly, CONGRATULATIONS to every athlete recognized. You represent KHS with pride and purpose!
