I am told we officially have 12 days of school remaining. For me, this is hard to believe.

As we move ahead, our focus remains on teaching and learning. Please know our staff is doing everything we can to help our Patriots finish strong.

We appreciate your partnership in having ongoing conversations with your student. Talk with him/her about setting goals and their plan to finish this school year and move on to the next grade level. Find ways to celebrate his/her success!

This week is National School Nutrition Employee Week, and today we're celebrating School Lunch Hero Day! Thanks to our #TeamGCPS School Nutrition Program staff, a tasty, nutritious meal is a recipe for the success of #EachAndEvery student!

• Do you have access to the Parent Portal?
• Do you have a My Payments Plus account?
• Have you applied for Free and/or Reduced Lunch, if applicable?
• Do you know when and where your child can go to get additional instructional support?
• Do you know where you can check out materials/resources to use at home with your student?
• Do you know how to become a volunteer in our school?

If you answered no to any of these questions, please make an Appointment with Pilar Silva, our Parent Instructional Coordinator, in the BMS Parent Center.

I wanted to share a great event hosted by our county that I believe will benefit your family. The event will focus on the important topic of Self-Determination, which is the belief that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, have the right to direct their own lives. They will be discussing essential components such as self-advocacy, self-awareness, goal setting, choice making, and striving for independence.

The session aims to empower parents and caregivers by providing you with practical strategies to help your children develop self-determination skills both at home and in the school environment. These skills are vital for maximizing growth and potential, particularly as individuals transition into adulthood.

Quería compartirles un gran evento organizado por nuestro condado que creo beneficiará a su familia. El evento se centrará en el importante tema de la Autodeterminación, que es la creencia de que todos los individuos, independientemente de sus capacidades, tienen derecho a dirigir sus propias vidas. Discutirán componentes esenciales como la autodefensa, la autoconciencia, el establecimiento de objetivos, la toma de decisiones y la lucha por la independencia.
