Every Student, Every Day!
September 26, 2024
Message from Mrs. Hernandez
Can you believe October is just around the corner?!
We’ve had an incredible start to the school year, and the excitement continues! Tomorrow, we will be hosting our first pep rally of the year!
Pep Rally Announcement
We will be following a Pep Rally Schedule tomorrow. Below, you’ll find the schedule we’ll follow throughout the day. Due to limited seating, we unfortunately cannot accommodate parents at the event. However, we will livestream the pep rally on Facebook at approximately 3:00 PM. This is our campus's first time streaming live, so we appreciate your patience if we experience any technical difficulties.
Early Student Pick-Up
If you need to pick up your student early tomorrow, please do so by 2:35 PM, as students will begin moving to the pep rally afterward.
Important Message for Parents – TikTok Trends
We ask that you speak to your students about participating in TikTok trends, as certain behaviors could result in disciplinary consequences. Please help us encourage positive and responsible choices!

Academic UIL this year!
We have kicked off sign-ups for Academic UIL this year! All students were introduced to Academic UIL last week and they have had opportunities sign up during all lunches and Panther Time.
Academic UIL is a fun way to compete in academics! There are 16 events offered (click HERE for more details on each event) and practices are once a week starting the week of 10/21. Each event has their own coach and practice time. We'll have a Canvas course up soon (for those that have signed up) with more details on practice times, coaches and competitions (one in January and one in March).
If your student is interested and hasn't signed up yet, there's still time! Use the link below. Students must be signed in to their SSO to access. https://tinyurl.com/2vw2ad4b

Student IDs
So far so good! Thank you for all your support and speaking with your students on the importance of keeping their IDs in a safe place. It makes a difference.
ID Requirements:
- All students must wear their IDs around their neck when entering the building and throughout the school day, with the exception of physical activities such as athletics and PE.
- Middle school students are required to show and wear their badges at all MISD extracurricular activities, such as games and fine arts events, in addition to bringing an adult with them
Lost or Forgotten IDs:
- A $5 fee will be charged for lost or damaged IDs.
- If a student forgets their ID, 6th-grade students will receive two free temporary badges, while 7th and 8th graders will receive one. All temporary badges must be returned to the house office or front office by the end of the day to avoid a $5 charge. Any additional instances will incur a $5 fee.
Reminders:
A valid physical government ID is needed to come inside the building. Photos of the ID are not permitted.
