• COLONIAL CORES & EXPECTATIONS – It was a great first week with students as we reviewed basic overview of expectations, policies, and procedures and following up this week as noted above. We have created the Colonial Core page on our website for our community to access the overview of the Colonial Cores and what we teach and the expectations we have for students and all of us in a variety of settings. We will continue to model and revisit these throughout the year!

This week in science class students took part in a chemical properties of water lab. Students tested properties such as convection, capillary action, and cohesion along with exploring the relationships between temperature, salinity, and density.

In Mr. Kelly's social studies class, students experienced a Tupperware Party/Sock Hop to celebrate and learn about the 1950's.

Students in Mrs. Schmitt's English class are acting out 12 Angry Men. The students are studying how a play is structured and how conflict drives a plot.

Attention 7th grade parents! If you have not already completed the permission slip and payment for our field trip please do so by Wednesday, 3/19. MyPaymentsPlus will close that afternoon. A frequently asked question we have received so far is, "Which teacher to put on the form when you complete it?" You can put any of your child's teachers, but when in doubt, 7-0 students can put Ms. Ambrosini and 7-2 students can put Mrs. Brunner. We are very excited about this opportunity which will enrich students' learning!

Team 7-2 students competed in what has become an annual game last Friday…Bask-sit-ball! We kicked off March Madness season with each I&E at a different basket in the Main Gym. Students could choose the "layup" chair or the "foul line" chair. The only rule is that you must stay seated when shooting! It was close (Mrs. Brunner and Mrs. Pags even had to each shoot a foul shot to determine 3rd and 4th place…Pags won. It brought back memories of their time together on the Holicong basketball team many years ago!) In the end, Team Barno won the game! Very fitting as Mr. Barno coaches boys' and girls' basketball here at Holicong! Don't count anyone out…we still have a handful of competitions left to go before June…

Join Us for "Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition" on March 25 at Lenape

Are you watching kids become too accustomed to using technology at too young an age? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw this happening with her kids and wondered about the impact and the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time. The result is "Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition." On Tuesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Lenape Middle School auditorium, parents, guardians, and caregivers are invited to a screening of the film, which will kick off a CBSD series on digital wellness. Thursday, March 27: Third Community Town Hall on Future of Doyle, Kutz and Linden

Learn the latest about options for the capital needs at Doyle, Kutz and Linden Elementary schools and share your feedback with district leadership at the third town hall meeting on the subject on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at CB South. Congrats to March Lock Screen Winner, Next Round of Submissions Due 4/20

Congrats to Barclay 5th grader David Martinez-Cortes for winning the March round of CBSD's lock screen contest! His original artwork inspired by the "Thoughtful Collaborators" attribute of CBSD's Portrait of a Graduate is featured on district devices throughout March. Students can now try their hand at winning the next round of the contest, inspired the "Adaptable Innovators" attribute. Submissions are due April 20. More details

Did you know there's a webpage on CBSD.org where you can get information on various community events and activities happening around Central Bucks? Recent additions include flyers about Bucks County Youth Symphony Orchestra tryout, CB East swim clinic, Doylestown Athletic Association baseball and co-ed volleyball, Warrington spring soccer, and YMCA summer camp flyers.
