Mark your calendar for BHS Parent Conferences being held at the school on Monday, November 22nd, and Tuesday, November 23rd from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Students are welcome to attend conferences. Virtual meetings are available upon request.

Conference sign-ups will be available online beginning Tuesday, November 8th. Please follow the steps below to sign up for your preferred conference date and time. If you have difficulty signing up online, you may contact the guidance office at 717-677-7191 ext 2130 to schedule a conference. Please note, that masks are required.

1. Please go to www.myconferencetime.com/biglerville
2. Choose: HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCES
3. Find and click on the name of your child’s teacher/s.
4. Select your preferred time.
5. Enter your information including your email address. The teacher's zoom link will be included in a confirmation email.
6. Click “Sign Up for Your Conference” near the bottom of the screen.
7. You’re done!

Student Council sponsored a Blood Drive in honor of the life of Ethan Slaybaugh on Nov 2nd. 29 units of blood were collected, which was 116% of our goal. Up to 87 hospital patients will be helped by the generosity of students, staff, and community members!

Both Middle School and High School Choirs and Bands will be performing on Veteran's Day showcasing some patriotic numbers. The concert will be held in the High School Auditorium at 7:00 pm. This concert is free and open to Biglerville students and families, however, masks will be required if coming.

Maestra Pecher introduced the history and the culture of Day of the Dead. Spanish students participated in activities throughout the week to learn about the traditions.

The Small Animal Care Class has been busy the first marking period learning how to care for their rabbits and meat bird chicks. They were successful in their breeding projects and had 28 Halloween baby bunnies! These little animals provide real-life experience with all aspects of breeding and raising rabbits.

Mrs. Tyson’s AP Literature class created items for Jane Eyre’s gift shop. They designed commemorative t-shirts, bumper stickers, bags, and concession stand items. We even had a guest appearance from the infamous fortune teller.

Students in Mrs. Lieberum's physics classes built and tested pumpkin launchers in their study of vectors and projectile motion.

The Unified Art class is making fall-themed art to sell in order to raise money for the Canner Fund. These turkeys are our first project.

On November 12th we will be hosting our College Application Day in the Learning Commons. This will be an all-day event where students can meet with reps from Penn State, Gettysburg College, York College, Wilson College, Shippensburg University, and Millersville University. We will also have a FAFSA Table for students who still need to complete theirs. Students must meet with at least one rep to receive a slice of pie. You must sign up first before meeting with a rep.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is back!! Please come and celebrate literature!

The Book Fair is part of a reading event that brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more!

Attention parents of seniors. Now is the time to recognize your senior by placing a baby ad in the upcoming yearbook! The easiest way to do this is by going to www.balfour.com and searching for Biglerville High School and then typing in your student's name and grade. There you can order a yearbook and/or place an ad! If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Harman l.harman@upperadams.org

The theme for the yearbook this year is, "take it back." We would like to share the senior's first years in school by adding a photo of them when they were in kindergarten or at another early age. Parents of seniors, please email this photo of your senior to Lisa Harman or send the photo to school with your child, and Mrs. Harman will scan it and return it. Thank you to the students who have already brought in their photos!

This year the BHS Theater Ensemble is presenting a one-act play followed by a one-act cabaret. In the past, they have only had a cabaret to fundraise for their spring musical, but watch out, because War of the Worlds is coming on November 19th-20th! Come and watch some of our talented Biglerville students and Chorus members entertain you for the evening! The show will take place at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium. The ticket price will be $5 to enter.
