Meet the Teacher - August 9th
Meet the Teacher Parking
When attending the event, remember parking at Vogel is limited. Many parents may need to park a significant distance from campus and walk the rest of the way. The Oak Ridge Transportation Center will be opening their parking lot to assist Vogel parents during our “Meet the Teacher” event. Parking will also be allowed in the right lane of the car rider line, located across the street from Vogel. Please dress comfortably and wear shoes that allow for walking. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
***Don't Forget... Verification of Student Registration***
You should have received an email from "NoReplyConroeISD" with the subject line "Verification of Student Registration" on the week of July 4th. You will need to complete the online forms before our Meet the Teacher event on Friday, August 9th. If you have not completed the forms, you will be asked to complete them before heading back to meet your child's teacher. If you have moved you will be asked to submit a new proof of residency. You can email spinedadiaz@conroeisd.net any current electric, water, or gas bill in the parent/guardian's name to prove your residency. Please call the school if you have questions.

Thank you for helping support a positive educational environment in our school.
Car Rider Line Traffic Flow and Procedures
- All cars coming from Hanna or Maplewood all access the car rider line near the transportation building. There is no left or right turn into the school drive when traveling on Geffert Wright. All cars entering the drive must cross over Geffert Wright from car rider line across the street from the school. Please refer to picture below.
- Parents may not pick up/drop off students anywhere on Geffert Wright Dr. Please use the car rider line.
- For safety reasons, students are never released to an adult on the front porch.
- Please have your 24-25 Car Rider Tag readily available to show Vogel staff when they approach in the afternoon. If you do not have a car rider tag, you will be asked to park in the front parking lot and go inside the building to get another tag. Governmental issued ID will be required to get car rider tag.
- When picking up or dropping off, please pull all the way up before loading or unloading your student. This will help our line move faster.
Arrival/Dismissal Times
- School hours 8:50am-4:05pm
- Students are marked tardy after 8:50am
- Arrival – Students may arrive starting at 7:45am.
- Please try to have your child to school by 8:30 so they can unpack and get ready for the day.
- We work on a phased dismissal. First phase is car riders and 1st bus load. 2nd phase is walker/bikers. Third phase is 2nd bus load.
- Buses depart at approximately 4:15 and 4:30pm
Attendance
- It is vital our students are at school every day.
- The 5th and 6th grade curriculum is hefty. Students can’t learn the necessary concepts if they aren’t present at school each day.
- Please help us by encouraging your child to come each day.

Parent Access
The most frequently asked question we get at the beginning of the year is how can I help my child be successful in intermediate school. The transition to intermediate can be challenging for some kiddos. The best thing a parent can do to support their child is to help them build organizational systems. Some students have trouble juggling the increased number of teachers and assignments. Help your child get into the routine of checking for work inside their flexi-folder every night. Look at graded assignments that are sent home to see if there are concepts your child is struggling to master. And sign up for a Parent Access account to monitor your child's grades. If you see zeros or "Z"s in the gradebook, it means that your child has not turned in their assignment. Encourage them to complete the work and turn it in. It's never too late to turn work in or too early to start building good study habits. If you don't have a Parent Access account CLICK HERE to register. Your involvement in their education is important. If you have questions on how else you can support your child, please reach out to your child's teacher or one of our school counselors.
Dress Code Reminders
- Shorts and skirts must approach fingertip length or longer
- Pants may not have large rips/holes above fingertip length unless they are patched or biker shorts are worn underneath.
- No spaghetti strap shirts, halter tops, or mid drift shirts are permitted
- Proper shoes must be worn at all times. No Crocs, flip flops, slippers, slides, or shoes with rollers.
- Tennis shoes are advised especially for daily physical education classes.
Forgotten Items/Deliveries
Please help your student be fully prepared for their day by ensuring that they have all needed materials (backpack, lunch, water bottle, etc...) as they arrive at school. Water bottles and lunches may be placed on the Drop-off table at the front office. All deliveries need to be labeled with your child’s name and homebase teacher to ensure proper delivery. Let the front office know you have dropped something off to your child. You may email your child’s teacher to let them know to allow your child to check the drop-off desk as well. Parents may only drop off lunches for their child.
If you need eye glasses delivered to your child, please do not put them on the drop off table. Bring them to the office/staff for immediate delivery to your child.
Any class work, binders or homework that is dropped off will be placed in the teacher’s mailbox for them to pick up during the day.
Delivery of food (DoorDash, UberEats, etc..), flowers, balloons, etc...to students at school are not permitted.
Birthday Treats
- Birthday treats, such as brownies or cookies, must be store bought due to allergy, safety and sanitation concerns.
- Treats are served in the classroom at the end of the day, and will be passed out by a staff member.
Message from Our Librarian, Mrs. Thomas
Conroe ISD Library Services enabled daily email notifications, so you are informed of the items checked out by your student. Daily emails will list the item(s) currently checked out. Notifications for these daily messages can be managed in Parent Access Center (PAC). Please visit our school library web site for information on how to manage these daily notifications. These emails are not overdue notices. Your child does not need to return the books listed to the library. The books are listed for informational purposes only. If you have any questions, please contact our school librarian, Mrs. Thomas at mgthomas@conroeisd.net.
Message from Our Nurse, Mrs. Coyne
We're close to the start of the 2024-25 school year! Your school nurses wanted to remind you of a few things we'll need before the first day of school so that we can keep all students healthy, safe, and ready to learn :)
- If your child has a life-threatening health condition (Asthma, Severe Allergy requiring an Epi-pen, Seizure, Diabetes) please be sure to bring in your child's care plan and medication to the school clinic before the first day of school.
- Please provide the clinic with updated immunization records throughout the school year. Remember 6th graders need to have their Tdap and MCV4 vaccines before 7th grade.
- If your child will require medications at school, we must have medication forms signed by the parent/guardian and medication in the original container before we can administer medication at school.

CISD Approved Calendars:
The recommendation for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school calendars for Conroe ISD was approved by the Board. Click on the link below for access to the calendars.
PowerSchool
The only way we know your most updated phone numbers, email address, emergency contacts, and people that may pick up your child is to complete the PowerSchool (formerly InfoSnap) returning student registration. This process does away with filling out multiple forms on the first day of school.
Your student's PowerSchool code and website link will be sent to you via email in July, and the email subject is normally titled "Conroe Independent School District - Verification of Student Registration Directions for (Student Name)."
School Messenger
All SMS messages received from the Conroe ISD District Office and your child's campus will begin with "Conroe ISD:" and come from the subscribe code 67587. If you have not yet opted-in to receive SMS messages, you can do so at any time throughout the school year by texting "Y" to 67587.
