Letter from the Principal
Dear Corbett High School Families and Students,
We have entered the final six weeks of school, and seniors are counting down the last days of their high school experience. CHAMPS have provided cool sweatshirts, swag bags, and Smoothies for seniors, and are planning a lunch for senior’s last day on campus - May 22nd. Please continue to donate your pop cans to support the senior all night party! If you haven’t returned the permission slip for seniors to attend the party, please do so as soon as possible. Leadership students put on the Spring Fling last week, and are busy getting ready for the Junior-Senior Prom, which will be held on May 11th.
Graduation is Wednesday, May 29th, 8:00 pm in the Corbett High School Stadium. Each graduate will have four tickets for stadium seating, but there will be plenty of room on the hillside and the football field for overflow seating. You will need to bring your own lawn chair or blanket for outside of the stadium seating! Senior families will receive more detailed information in an email.
AP testing will begin in May, we are looking forward to students demonstrating their learning with the opportunity to earn college credit. I want to remind all families that Corbett offers the Capstone Diploma program, which is a combination of six classes: AP Seminar, AP Research, and four AP classes of the students choice. College Board developed the AP Capstone Diploma program at the request of higher education professionals, who saw a need for a systematic way for high school students to begin mastering these skills before college. I would encourage all students to take AP Seminar as sophomores, as it is an excellent course AND it opens the door to the Capstone Diploma. For more information about Capstone - click here.
Sincerely,
Kathy Childress
Corbett HS Principal
Junior/Senior Prom Venue Update

The 2024 Congressional Art Competition is open!
The deadline to submit is April 30th, 2024.
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors the Congressional Art Competition, a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
Congressman Blumenauer has the privilege to select one young artist from Oregon’s Third Congressional District for this distinct honor.
The winning artwork will hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year. The tunnel is the most highly traveled access point between the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Capitol. Every day, Members of Congress, distinguished visitors, and tens of thousands of tourists – from the United States and abroad – walk through the tunnel and admire the artwork.
