Dear Gunn Families,

As we approach the close of the first semester, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work of our students, parents, and staff. This has been a semester filled with growth, resilience, and learning—not just in academics, but in how we support one another as a community.

At Gunn, we often talk about belonging and how crucial it is to the mental health, wellness, and success of our students. Belonging is built in community—in the small moments when we connect with others, show kindness, and offer support. These connections help foster not just academic engagement but the sense of safety and confidence our students need to thrive.

As we head into the final stretch of the semester, let's remind ourselves and our students that no single grade, test, or project defines them. A grade is a snapshot of one moment in their journey—it does not capture the complexity of their growth, the depth of their character, or the full arc of their potential. Our children are so much more than any single measure of achievement. Their successes and challenges help shape their journey, but they do not determine who they are or who they will become.

The end of the semester can feel overwhelming, and it’s easy to get caught up in the rush. Remember to pause, breathe, and take care of yourselves and each other. Whether it’s through a quiet moment, time with loved ones, or doing something that brings you joy, self-care is essential as we navigate this busy time.

To our students, I want to say: Be proud of how far you’ve come this semester. You’ve worked hard, and that effort matters. To our parents and staff, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our community. Together, we create an environment where students can grow into their best selves.

As winter break approaches, find time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with the people and activities that bring you happiness. The break is an opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and prepare for the new year ahead.

Let’s continue to support each other as a community in 2025!

Flex Space Grand Opening!

Our PTSA is nothing short of extraordinary! This semester, they’ve gone above and beyond to make Gunn a place where students, families, and staff experience belonging. Their energy, creativity, and dedication truly shine, and their latest efforts left us all in awe!

We are incredibly grateful to Naomi, Parul, May, Rebecca, Sarith, and their amazing team of parent volunteers, who dedicated weeks of hard work to make our final staff meeting of the year so memorable! Thanks to the progress of our construction, we had the opportunity to move into our new flex space ahead of schedule, and the PTSA made it a celebration to remember.

They treated the Titan staff to a delicious breakfast, an absolutely phenomenal cookie display, and even organized a festive ugly sweater contest. The event was topped off with an impromptu “ribbon cutting” ceremony that marked the beginning of a new chapter in our beautiful new administration building.

We can hardly wait to show you all around this new space! In the meantime, enjoy the pictures below for a glimpse into this special day.
