Did You Know??
Turkey wasn’t on the menu at the first Thanksgiving. Venison, duck, goose, oysters, lobster, eel, and fish were likely served, alongside pumpkins and cranberries (but not pumpkin pie or cranberry sauce!).

21st Century Program Updates
POWER Hours students have worked hard on some fun projects so far, but this one is an easy one to do at home for kids of all ages…it’s a tiny rocket! It doesn’t take too long and all you need is some paper, a pencil, a straw and some tape. Watch the video and then you can print off the packet and use the templates or just make your own!
https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/learn/project/make-a-straw-rocket/
Once you and your child make this tiny rocket and launch it a few times, you may be inspired to improve it and try again or perhaps to even check out some other bigger rocket projects…and work on launching them together as a family. Working on projects together is a great way to bond; there is time to talk, funny things happen, you can work through mistakes and problems and who knows, your child may just be inspired for their future as a rocket scientist!
Here is the link for other rocket projects.
Have fun! We sure did!
