Wolf Branch Elementary School
February Edition
Busy Month
Greetings Wolf Branch Families! The month of February has arrived quickly, and we have many things to celebrate. The month of February has been dedicated to celebrating Black History, Dental Health, Hearth Health, President's Day, and Valentine's Day. With third quarter well underway, our third and fourth grade classes are gearing up for the IAR. (Illinois Assessment of Readiness)
Upon returning from the holiday break on January 5th, the students were treated to a demonstration of self-discipline, the character word of the month, by 3Ts Martial Arts. Pictured below are WB staff members trying their hand at exercising self-discipline to help them break a few boards! Other assemblies to look forward to this month include our safety assembly from Secret Service Agent, Sandra Lane and entertainment provided by the Mashariki performers at the end of the month!
Celebrating Black History
The month of February in the U.S. has been designated as Black History Month, a month dedicated to celebrating the contributions of Black men and women to the United States. Our fourth grade students are excited to research the contributions of these artists, inventors, thinkers, and leaders. They plan to take what they learn and share this with the staff and students each day on the morning announcements.
I am proud to be part of the Wolf Branch community that celebrates diversity not only this month, but throughout the year.
Growing Future Teachers
It was a great experience for everyone! The high school students were enthusiastic, helpful, inquisitive, and polite. I loved seeing the interactions between the high school students and our staff as well as those interactions with our students.
All in all it was a great 2 days, and we are hopeful that many great teachers may come as a result of this partnership!

100TH Day of School
It's hard to believe we have reached the 100th day of school already! Our students spent Wednesday participating in 100 day activities! We hardly recognized our Kindergarten students (and teachers) dressed like they were 100 years old!
