Cougar Courier Edition 4
Hello Antwine Families,
As we step into Week 4 of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of resilience—both in our scholars and in our school community. The first few weeks have been filled with new experiences, challenges, and growth. It’s natural for our children to face obstacles as they adjust to new routines, academic expectations, and social dynamics. But it’s in overcoming these challenges that they build resilience—a critical life skill that will serve them well beyond their middle school years.
In our classrooms, we are encouraging scholars to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and celebrate their efforts, not just their successes. We know that resilience doesn’t happen overnight; it’s a process that involves patience, support, and practice. As parents, you play a vital role in this journey, and we are here to partner with you every step of the way.
As we move forward into Week 4, let’s continue to support our scholars in developing the resilience they need to thrive. Whether it’s tackling a difficult math problem, navigating friendships, or simply adjusting to a new schedule, each challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we can help our scholars build the resilience they need to succeed now and in the future.
Wish you all a PAWSome Week!

Uniform Policy
Be sure to become familiar with our uniform policy.
It is the philosophy of the Socorro Independent School District and Hurshel Antwine School that scholars should maintain high standards of dress, grooming, and appearance. SISD has established the following universal uniform options to compliment the other agreed upon school uniform options:
- Khaki pants and a white polo shirt without a school logo;
- School uniform pants and a school colored polo shirt without a school logo.
- Physical education uniform bottoms (shorts or sweatpants in any color) and a white, gray, or school colored t-shirt without a school logo.
As per Policy FNCA (local), a universal uniform may be worn at any SISD School, which has elected to implement a school uniform policy.
