Cell Phones and Yondr Pouches
However, I would be naive if I believed that everyone was excited about by the new policy and appreciated the renewed focus on academics. A few scholars have put old phones in their pouches and keep their activated phone on their person. While we expected this to happen we are only addressing the situation when the phone comes out and interferes with teaching and learning.
Reminder of Protocols:
If a student who reported not having a phone upon entry to the school is found using a phone, a member of the administration or student support team will confiscate their phone and contact the student’s parent or guardian.
The phone will be stored in a locked cabinet for the first offense and the phone will be returned to the student when they report to the main office after dismissal.
After any following offenses, the confiscated phone will only be returned to the student’s parent or guardian.
Scholars are allowed to use their phones in the cafeteria during lunch. This means that once they leave the cafeteria the cell phone should be in the Yondr Pouch.
Thank You,
Glenn
