Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Sign-In Procedures
Every volunteer that comes into the building during school hours needs to sign in via the Raptor system (the computer in the foyer) You will need to have a valid ID (a driver's license or state ID card) with you every single time. You will scan the barcode on the back of your ID and follow the steps on the screen. A visitor sticker with your picture will print out for you to wear visibly for your entire time in the building. To sign out all you need to do is remove your sticker and scan the barcode on the sticker at the same computer. This will automatically sign you out!
We appreciate all of your help and efforts to keep our school a safe place for everyone!
Volunteer Thursdays
We are looking for volunteers to help complete teacher projects (copying, cutting, laminating, etc) on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30! This is a great opportunity to get to know your school and to support our busy teachers. All volunteers are required to complete some paperwork their first time in the building each school year. Don't forget to bring along a photo ID. Please sign up using the link below. Thank you in advance, looking forward to seeing you here!
Recess Chaperone Volunteers Update
We appreciate all of the caregivers who have come and volunteered their time & energy supporting Kenwood at recess. Thank you so much!
The initial intent of this program, in addition to involving caregivers in our day-to-day activities, was to be able to help support our teachers and staff by relieving them of some of their extra duties from time to time. This first version ended up with volunteers being too infrequent and therefore difficult to monitor and keep staff aware of what's going on.
Going forward, we will welcome volunteers only during specific times, for instance parent teacher conferences or Teacher Appreciation Week. As those times approach you can find sign-up information right here as usual! Again, thank you so much for all that you do!
Temperatures Are Dropping 🥶
Please send your students bundled up!
Make sure your students have gloves, hats and heavy winter coats for school. Even if they don't necessarily need them during their morning routine, stick them in pockets or backpacks. It's also a good idea to write names on tags if you can. We send students outside for recess as often as possible and they may also be outside for dismissal, dress them warm!
