Your student should have received a flyer like this. You need to enter that code to order your photos. There is no cash or check accepted. It all done through their website! Everyone gets their photo taken whether a photo is ordered or not so please send them to school dressed appropriately and ready to smile. They will take the photos right away in the morning prior to recesses and specials.
Oct. 23 is retake day. Students will need to return their entire picture packet if they want a retake.
Zones of Regulation
We have implemented "The Zones of Regulation" schoolwide. The zones are designed to help the students recognize when they are in the different Zones as well as learn how to use strategies to change or stay in the Zone they are in. In addition to addressing self-regulation, the students will gain an increased vocabulary of emotional terms, skills in reading other people’s facial expressions, perspective about how others see and react to their behavior, insight into events that trigger their behavior, calming and alerting strategies, and problem solving skills. For example, “This is really frustrating me and making me go into the Yellow Zone. I need to use a tool to calm down. I will take some deep breaths.” It is important to note that everyone experiences all of the Zones—the Red and Yellow Zones are not the “bad” or “naughty” Zones. All of the Zones are expected at one time or another. The Zones of Regulation is intended to be neutral and not communicate judgment.
Feel free to use this language at home as well as an open communication tool.
Parent Teacher Conferences - Oct. 7, 8, 10
A few common questions:
Q: Should I bring my student?
A: No, you don't need to bring the student to the conference. It is best that younger siblings don't attend as well. However, we recognize sometimes they have to and that is completely fine. All are welcome!
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: No, you don't need to bring anything physical. If you have any questions for the teacher it would be good to ask it at this time.
Q: Do I need to come?
A: Yes! Absolutely yes! This time for teachers and parents to communicate and collaborate is essential to a student's success. They...
- Facilitate Communication: They allow open dialogue about a child's progress.
- Support Student Learning: Teachers share insights to help parents support learning at home.
- Build Relationships: They strengthen the partnership between home and school.
- Set Goals: Goals for academic and behavioral growth can be established.
- Address Concerns: Parents can voice concerns, and teachers can discuss issues.
- Encourage Engagement: Involvement boosts student motivation.
Overall, they promote collaboration for the student's success.
We have received most PTC forms back. Please send your form back to communicate if it works or not so we can reschedule ASAP if needed. Thank you!

30 Second Rule
We have great kids at Seedling Mile but sometimes we all need a good reminder to: Be Kind! We will be sharing this with them next week so I wanted you to be aware so you could talk about it as well. Together we can continue to grow the hearts and minds of our students.
Note from Nutrition Services
National School Lunch Week is Oct 14-18!! We had some fun coming up with the lunch menu names for this week. Did you know The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day? President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. Ahoy, Matey - Please join in on the fun with the Activity Guide and Coloring Pages.
